The [something - blindness? stupidity?] of the media, and subsequently a lot of people, just gets under my skin. I watched a DVD extra in which one of the celebs was talking about “some lady who must have been at least 175 [lbs]” and his costar did the gestures and facial expressions to indicate “OMG huge cow” and it makes me lose my mind… for someone short and smallboned, yes, 175 is a lot of weight. For someone tall, as Khloe is? It’s just not.

But these magazines sell by the numbers – 120? Healthy! 150? Overweight! Size 2? Perfect! Size 8? Enormous! – and people fall for it, and that, IMO, is why a lot of teens are developing eating disorders and people are making a fortune off of the *created* and deliberately perpetuated insecurities. My mother subscribes to a popular woman’s magazine, and they recently had a headline, something like “Learn to live with your flaws.” I pointed out that, if that very magazine had not spent the last 25 years telling women they’re too fat and should look like runway models 24/7, most women might not even think they HAD any flaws!

I fried my thyroid/pituitary during those months of deliberate starvation, because someone else bought into the numbers hype and then I was stupid enough to buy into HIS hype, and it’s causing me no end of health problems now, when I should be in the prime of my life. I hate that magazines like that are making money by deliberately creating and pushing this agenda. /shutting up now.

At her height, a size 10 is quite slim. I’m nearly 6′ tall, and at one point starved myself nearly into the hospital trying to get down to 135 pounds from 137 (long story, not my idea). After nine (9) consecutive days of eating literally NOTHING, drinking only water, and still not losing those last 2 pounds, I passed out twice in one day at work and my boss asked me if I had cancer. At that point, I could *almost* squeeze into a size 7.

Either she’s lying or confused, or Hollywood uses an entirely different sizing scheme than the rest of the world. But FFS when are people going to stop gasping in horror at the thought of a woman being a size 10? It might be “solid” for a 5’1″ person, but for someone her height, it’s skinny, even if it is double digits.
