Katie Price has been ordered to pay substantial damages to her ex-husband’s manager, after being sued. Price and ex-husband Peter Andre had an acrimonious split. That split seemed to have extended to the woman who acted as their manager at the time, Claire Powell. Some of you may remember Powell from previous seasons of the former married couple’s reality show, on which she was a regular cast member. When the couple split, Powell went off to work with Andre as he was her original client. During an interview with my favourite shiny gay, Graham Norton, back in 2009, Price alleged Powell and Price were dating. This allegation was not aired, but made it into the UK papers. Powell says this has damaged her reputation… the way a reputation for banging clients would.
Powell’s solicitor Mike Brookes said the accusation was “very damaging and distressing” as well as being “completely untrue”, and on Friday, March 19, a judge at London’s High Court ordered Price, who was not present, to pay undisclosed damages for the remark.
Powell says, “I didn’t really want to be in court but if something bad is said, which is going to trash your reputation, you have to clear your name.” Price, whose divorce from Andre was finalized in September 2009, has since apologized for the comment. [WENN, Ace Showbiz]
Oh, yeah, before you ask, I was being silly when picking that photo.
