Katie Holmes Covers Vanity Fair October 2012 500x701

Running out of dead people and uncooperative British royals to put on its covers, a paparazzi photo of Katie Holmes makes the cover of Vanity Fair October 2012. Because Vanity Fair stopped trying. To be clear, this isn’t an exclusive with Holmes, it’s not an interview with Holmes, and it’s mostly not even about Holmes. It’s a belated attempt to cash in on the divorce that’s already finalised while using Holmes’ face to sell a story that’s really about Scientology’s creepy dating service where they allegedly cast future wives for Tom Cruise by telling the women they’re auditioning for a movie only to learn, surprise, it’s a date. The cover story is long and convoluted. But, in short, it’s about how Scientology handlers allegedly used the private confessions of the then-boyfriend of actress Nazanin Boniadi to expedite their break-up. Once Boniadi was single, she was allegedly scouted to be a future wife. She was given a hair and teeth make-over and introduced to Cruise, with whom she fell in love and moved in between November 2004 and January 2005. She ultimately failed her audition to be wife for doing a poor job of sucking up to leader David Miscavige. Although, sources say, she grew ‘overwhelmed’ with ‘the intensity of [Cruise's] affection, especially his predilection for public displays [of affection].’ Handlers dumped the 32-year-old on Cruise’s behalf, told her she’s not famous enough to date him anyway, and Boniadi was replaced by Holmes who would become Cruise’s third wife once her lawyer father prepared a prenup that filled five boxes with paperwork.

When is Tom gonna start suing these magazines. A man can only take so much. Dude, it’s about time and you have the money. Hire some lawyers to start putting some of these mags out of business.
