Kanye West took to his official blog, at the Kanye University, to say sorry to Taylor Swift over an incident onstage at the MTV VMAs 2009.
The rapper embarrassed himself and 19-year-old Taylor Swift at the VMAs when he stormed the stage and snatched the microphone out of the country singer’s hands. He ranted about how Beyonce should have won Best Female Video 2009. Swift soon left the stage looking upset. You can see the video and a photo of what Kanye West did at the VMAs 2009.

In the way in which only Kanye West knows how, he took to his official blog and made a belated CAPS apology for ruining the moment which Beyonce later let Swift reclaim. Later in the ceremony, Beyonce let Swift take her own moment onstage as she accepted Video of the Year 2009 for Single Ladies.
“I’m sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom [Andrea]. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said. She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she’s in the bleachers! …………………… I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!…………….. Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade!!! I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down!!!!! I’m sorry to my friends at MTV. I will apologize to Taylor 2mrw. Welcome to the real world!!!! Everybody wanna booooo me but I’m a fan of real pop culture!!! No disrespect but we watchin’ the show at the cribe right now cause…. Well you know!!!! I’m still happy for Taylor!!!! Boooyaawww!!!! That was a bunch of bull. that wasnt sincere at all. Just because he gave his a award to Outkast, doesnt mean Taylor should do the same. Beyonce has tons of awards, this was Taylors first VMA. Can she have a least one award. And Beyonce still got the best award of the night. And one last thing, THIS IS THE VMA’S NOT THE GRAMMY’S!!! why would he give a rats ass about a moon man.

Sorry, Kanye…a HUGE fail on your part. No amount of celebrity gave him the right to humiliate a 19-year-old girl on a live broadcast that will be shown around the world. Had he been “keepin it real” he would have interupted Beyonce’ and made a public apology right there instead of posting this lame blog. Or better yet….kept his petty and childish comments to himself. I can’t imagine his recently departed mother is looking down on him and thinking “I’m SO proud of you” at this moment. He should truly be ashamed of himself. In the end, Swift is just a 19-yr-old girl who busted her butt and put her heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into achieving a dream. And in the course of 5 seconds Kanye West gets up on a stage in the middle of her shining moment and humiliates and dismantles her happiness in one, single sentence. I guess West has forgotten that he used to be on that same boat.
Well said, Dalore. It was unthinkably cruel for a grown man to do that to a young girl in front of the whole world. The roar of applause Taylor got when she took the stage later after Beyonce put things write was very telling [SEE HERE]. People booed Kanye and I hope all the bad PR he got today will tech him he cannot do as he pleases.
Truly a man to be pitied and not someone our children look up to as a role model. He has shamed the entire musical community.
I’m a rocker, myself. I’ve heard at least one song by each of the three artists but I have to say that it showed what Beyonce’s kaliber was as a basic human being. Kudos to her for the class and grace she showed in trying to make things right by Taylor Swift. And congratulations to Taylor on her first music award. Well done!

Kudo’s to Beyonce and Taylor Swift for showing class and grace under unexpected and embarrassing circumstances – there should be a new awards category for the people who keep it together while others are having meltdowns/breakdowns/panties-in-a-bunch attacks.

If you are going to apologize, why bring up (yet again) your idea of who should have won in the middle of the apology? People like him don’t deserve the multi-million dollar careers that we have bestowed upon them.
I just think he rished out an apology after the initial backlash. It doesn’t sound thought through. He did a better job on Leno.
