Kanye on Jay Leno Show Talking About VMAs

Kanye West on Jay Leno Show on Monday Sept. 14, discussing VMA outburst.

Kanye West appeared on the The Jay Leno Show Monday September 14, 2009.

While speaking to Leno, West gave his second apology for the Taylor Swift VMA incident within 24 hours.

This time he got it right and sounded more sincere rather than blogging in all CAPS as he did with his first attempt. West was the one who appeared emotional and shaken this time around, as he expressed regret for having humiliated and taken a moment away from a 19-year-old girl who had just won her first VMA.

He also talked about taking a break after this controversy, saying: “It was rude, period. So many celebrities, they never take the time off. I’ve never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve.”

Although Kanye was set to perform, he asked for some air time to talk. During the interview, he said it was, “extremely difficult to deal with the fact that I hurt someone and took something away from a talented artist.” (via Just Jared)

Ahhh…this year’s VMAs and one of your pet peeves has probably given you carpal tunnel syndrome, Amy….

Enjoy it, though. We don’t usually get a chance like this to revel in the utter gutter fabulousness and “bitch-ass-ness” that has become the modern American popular music industry.

This underscores what I have been saying:

When HIV hit the Gay community and took with it untold numbers of artists, producers, musicians and other members of the music industry AND brought dance music to its knees…the hood rats took over, set their own agenda, and hijacked the industry.

Yep, thanks for noticing… I never saw it coming and it’s been the source of much annoyance. He is just being an attention ho’ and as Pink points out, he is getting what he wants by people like me wasting time talking about his foolishness. I was more interested in writing about it as I felt sorry for Taylor Swift. Now I have :)

He sure didn’t seem too apologetic when he ran up there ruining her moment, and bringing Beyonce into it, now all of a sudden he’s all over the place apologizing? WTF?!?

If there were any doubt about his douchebaggery, this was it.

    1. I agree with your first point, but he was totally drunk by that point in the ceremony. That plus live TV and he was bound to make an ass of himself… again.
