Julia Roberts is the September 2010 cover girl for Elle magazine US edition. There are four covers for the magazine’s next issue, and on each Roberts is tapping into one of her safe girl next-door images; she’s always pretty vanilla and is styled like the world’s sleekest-looking soccer mother of six. All Elle seem to have done is run a flat iron through her hair, other than that, she looks so similar and uninspired it makes one wonder why she merits four of her own covers. Inside the issue, Roberts talks about being a practising Hindu, and her opinion on botox and plastic surgery. Pictures and interview below…
- On botox/ plastic surgery: “It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”
- On religion: The Roberts-Moder family, goes to temple together to “chant and pray and celebrate. I’m definitely a practicing Hindu.” says Roberts.
- On reincarnation: “I’ve been so spoiled with my friends and family in this life,” she says. “Next time I want to be just something quiet and supporting.”
