Jon and Kate of Jon and Kate plus 8 have issued separate statements about their filing of divorce papers.
“Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children,” Kate said in a statement Monday night. “While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children.
Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move. “This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that.” (via People)

Didn’t they start the “be sure to tune in” ads late last week? So what’s up with the “Jon’s activities over the weekend” crap? And “protect herself and the kids” – GMAFB. Protect from what? Has he been going off on violent rages that somehow missed the camera lens? Drinking himself comatose or involved in drugs and no one knows?
I don’t watch the show (which means I should probably shut my trap about it), but from everything I’ve heard and read about it, the #1 thing she’s worried about protecting is her income. If she were truly concerned about “protecting her kids” I think she’d get the fucking television cameras out of their house and let them have as close to a normal life as possible.
I completely agree with every single word you typed! And though I have not watched more than 10 minutes either (it was boring), it is quite clear from all the negative reports on her that she is money/ fame hungry. Anyone that gives a damn about their kids does not put them on camera when they are not of an age to make the decision for themselves – one of the Osbourne kids opted out of their show and is better for it. How will these kids feel when they are tweens and realise the reason for mummy and daddy’s fame is the show that split them up!
