TLC have released a statement in which they blasted Jon Gosselin for his attempts to shut down the production of upcoming show, Kate Plus 8. The show, which uses a new title instead of Jon & Kate Plus 8, is in legal turmoil after Jon Gosselin had lawyers slap TLC with a cease-and-desist letter telling them to halt the show or face criminal charges.
“Effective immediately, no production crews are to enter Jon’s family home for any reason,” a letter from his attorney says, according to The Insider. “In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers.” Jon Gosselin owns the property jointly with his wife. The letter is dated the same day as the TLC announcement that the reality show about the couple and their eight kids would be renamed Kate Plus 8 starting next season. (via People)
The network is not taking this, and the large and very public notice hanging from the gates of the family home instructing their crews to keep out, lightly. In a response to his apparent self-interest, TLC released their own statement.
“We are aware of Jon Gosselin’s recent statements, and remain deeply disappointed at his continued erratic behavior. He and the family were shooting as recently as last Friday, without incident, and his latest comments are grossly inaccurate, without merit and are clearly opportunistic,” TLC said in a statement to People. “Despite Jon Gosselin’s repeated self destructive and unprofessional actions, he remains under an exclusive contract with TLC. Direct filming of the children has been currently suspended, pending further conversations between both parents.” (via People)

How the worm has turned. It used to be easy to pick sides against Kate and the b*tchy way she steamrolled over Jon. Now I want them both to go away. Equally offensive… TLC. I glad I have no reason to watch the T(orchring) L(ittle) C(hildren) channel now!
Thanks for the comment, Philster. I think the ratings are down around 80% from last season. So you aren’t the only one infuriated by this horrid show. I think this legal wrangle means the show will be off for a little while. TLC aren’t allowed on their property. Let’s hope they call the whole thing off.
