Previously, there were blind items about Joe Jonas and his girlfriend, Blanda Eggenschwiler, claiming they both used heroin. Those reports intensified when someone threatened to leak a tape of them having sex and doing drugs. His camp officially denied all this, but spoke off the record saying his addiction is worsening and they’re worried about him.
The Jonas brothers were admittedly fighting around the same time. They aired their dirty laundry in public, and cancelled their tour two days before it was supposed to start. Then, three weeks later, they broke up altogether.
However, following a vague GMA interview, Joe is flat denying that he’s on drugs (despite being photographed with his ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato’s sober coach). ”It’s ridiculous!” said Joe, 24. “We’re not saying anything for two or three weeks and I’m a drug addict!”
Joe denies Blanda does drugs either. “It’s obviously not true. I’ve never touched heroin in my life. Neither has my girlfriend,” he insists. “It’s hilarious to me, but also frustrating as well. It pissed me off when it’s about my girl and even about myself.”
“I was walking down the street and people are asking me if they can give me a hug and how rehab is,” Joe added, explaining that he spoke out because fans believed the reports. “I’m like, ‘You tell me because I’ve never been.’”
“This is the first time in a long time we’ve had time to focus on ourselves and support each other through that,” Joe continued of the band breaking up. “Like [Nick] said, we know it’s going to be sad for a lot of people, but for us, we are looking forward to the future.”
