Posting out of sympathy that everyone missed her birthday in favour of cooing and parsing Mariah Carey’s appointment on American Idol, here’s Jennifer Lopez’s cake for her 43rd birthday clearly commissioned by boyfriend Casper Smart since they call each other ‘bear’ on Twitter. The cake, a pink animal with a bow, has a little placard saying ‘Happy Birthday, BEAR!’ Included are photos of Lopez and Smart and preparations for her birthday party. My photo agency captioned these: ‘Jennifer Lopez was treated a birthday surprise in New York this evening by her boyfriend, Casper Smart who blindfolded the birthday girl and treated her to a boat trip with friends and family. The evening very much seemed to have a theme of teddy bears as two giant bears were taken aboard and also a special birthday cake of a bear. Nigel Lithgoe brought a giant present for Jennifer from Prada. Her mother earlier brought her kids onto the boat too.’
