January Jones’ Boobs Not Photoshopped in GQ

January Jones’ boobs have been causing a stir, after photoshop speculation.

January Jones, who plays Betty Draper in Mad Men, covers and features in a photo spread for GQ’s November 2009 issue.

The actress is photographed in assorted skimpy outfits, including lingerie and the leather jacket above, which shows an undue amount of her cleavage.

Since the photos of January Jones‘ boobs in GQ hit the net, the star has been hit with speculation about whether the cleavage is her own or whether it was added with the help of bored photoshop elves who pumped her up a little too much. Which to me screams of an excuse to stare at her chest once again, as if talking about them all through last week was not enough. Her chest look real enough to me, large and oddly round, but some women’s chests just look like that. She can be seen in red carpet photos looking not quite so chesty, but then she wasn’t showing so much flesh and she wasn’t bra-less.

GQ are insisting that Jones just looks different in the photos, and that they did not digitally enlarge her assets. More on what they have to say and two photos of January Jones on the red carpet for comparison below.

Now the men’s mag has decided to respond to this very muted uproar. GQ’s Director of Photography Dora Somosi blogs that the breasts in question are in fact very real and spectacular. “People think that a person will look the same in every photograph, but that just doesn’t happen,” Dora writes.

“You can have two pictures in the same light, same clothes, same setting, and just a couple of seconds of difference, just the way you move your hands or the way you hold your neck, will change how your body looks. Also, she’s a smaller woman—she’s pretty thin, so it might throw a person off to see her looking this way…Terry [Richardson] likes to work with harder lighting, and that can create a stronger shadow—that, and body position and perspective could give the illusion that her breasts are bigger.” (via E!
