Janelle Monae reveals her official music video for her new single, Cold War.
I get the feeling this girl’s getting quite a lot of hate (based on the comment boards I read on places like Gawker, ONTD etc.). People seem to agree that she has talent, but they’re not liking what she has to offer at the moment. Also, they’re concerned with her being on Diddy’s label as he’s not exactly known for doing a great job past the first album or two. Well, I like the girl. At least for now. I liked her enough to buy her album, The ArchAndroid, along with a bunch of others when I lost my damn mind going online CD shopping for the first time in about five years (I’m yet to listen all the way through as Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 and Eminem’s Recovery albums are glued in my player pretty tight. I liked what I did hear though). She’s not all bad, though I’m not sure I’m understanding this video. When I first watched it, my only thought was ‘um… is this the finished video’. Then I turned it off, before giving it another try. What do you guys think?
