I’d not written about this story as yet, as I feel conflicted as a UK viewer of the TV shows on which Jade Goody became a star and a notorious public figure. I found it hard to write pieces on her objectively and so, to be fair to her given her current health, I avoided writing about her altogether.
Today though, news was released via her publicist that made me think and so I wanted to post it here.
Jade Goody’s publicist Max Clifford today told papers that he wanted the reality star to calm down, slow down, step out of the media spotlight and spend her remaining time with her family. Clifford said, “My attitude to Jade in recent times is: Don’t you think enough is enough? Don’t you think you’ve got the message out there? The money that you wanted for the boys we’ve done, we’ve made, it’s in place, the money is assured.”
He added, ”Jade likes and enjoys the media spotlight. You have to marry all of these things.”
The PR guru expressed concern as recent efforts and surgery to relieve Goody from her pain caused by her terminal cervical cancer have failed, and she has been given a possible month to live.
With her remaining time, Goody says she wants to christen her children and herself and also tie up her financial affairs.
I don’t know anything about Jade Goody, just hear about her on gossip blogs but I do wish her all the best.
She is someone I deliberately avoid and never write about, I thought her PR’s response was interesting.
