Hugh Jackman releasing details about the upcoming X-Men Wolverine sequel.
Hugh Jackman has revealed details about the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel that is in the works.
The first movie was kind of a PR catastrophe and as you will remember it was leaked, in part, in its raw un-edited form. That and all the poor reviews it started getting early on, on Twitter and the like before its release, ensured a lukewarm reception from reviewers and audiences alike.
In any case, the Australian actor has confirmed that a second movie in the series is in the works. So perhaps they want a second shot at not screwing up this X-Men offshoot. This movie’s production better be on lock down. You know heads are going to roll is the raw cut of this film gets leaked online, like its predecessor.
Jackman spilled a few juicy details about the movie production. He says that the film will focus on the part of the Wolverine saga that is set in Japan, he even invited the fans that were listening to him speak to go and audition for one of the many parts on offer. He confirms that the script is being written right now and casting will begin thereafter.
The IMDb entry for the movie can be found detailing the existing production info.
There is also this section of the first movie’s Wiki giving some further details. When more information is released, I’ll let you know.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 will have its theatrical release in the US in 2011.
