Hugh Jackman Heartbroken By Wolverine Leak

Star of ‘X Men Origins: Wolverine’, Hugh Jackman, is said to be “heartbroken” over the leaking of his new movie on the Internet. You may remember, over the weekend it was revealed that an unfinished, rough cut of the film, sans proper editing or special effects, was freely available to watch and download online.

The star flexed his guns and then claimed not to think the leak would affect ticket sales. He may be right, as even those who have seen the movie say it is so unwatchable in parts, due to only being a rough edit, that they will still need to go and watch the proper cut with CGI on the big screen.

“It’s a serious crime and there’s no doubt it’s very disappointing – I was heartbroken by it,” Hugh Jackman said Wednesday about last week’s Internet leak of a work print of his X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

“Obviously people are seeing an unfinished film. It’s like a Ferrari without a paint job.”

This is the same rough print of X Men that Roger Friedman of Fox 411 downloaded, partially reviewed and was terminated for. The FBI and the MPAA have vowed to apprehend whoever made it available online, but as of yet, have made no progress despite the identifiers inserted into the film.

    i’d be pissed, too.

and people are making such a big deal about an unfinished version of the movie. they need to calm down. they weren’t meant to see it in the first place, so its what they get.

    1. People are being hilariously unreasonable about the whole “it looks shitty, cos it’s unfinished” thing. It’s like, um, don’t watch shitty bootlegs then!!!

A “serious crime”? Jesus. What a first-world problem to have when a movie leak is a “serious crime”.

It sucks for sure and whoever did it needs to be held accountable for being such a douche. But Fox knows that stuff like this is a problem. If they want to invest a lot of money in a movie they need to lock their shit DOWN. That is like leaving your Lexus unlocked on the street and being surprised when someone takes it for a joyride.

    1. Hi Julie,

Welcome to the site, and thank you for taking the time to leave such an insightful comment.

You have such a point and I never thought about it that way. It is such a nice problem to have right… He’ll make a few million less on the movie cos of this, diddums.

Fox are sloppy for letting this happen. This is unusual and frankly, a fuck up on their end. They do need better security and cannot just pass the buck.
