Howard Stern is obviously a douche, but at least he has the manners to be a funny douche. Usually. This time he may have gone too far, ripping into Precious actress Gabourey Sidibe. He said of the heavy-set actress that she was “the most enormous fat Black chick I’ve ever seen.” Um, compared to which other “fat Black chicks”? And, who cares when she can act? Sigh. Whatever. He called her fat, and said that Oprah and others were lying to themselves about her.
[Howard Stern ripped] Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe and her weight on his Sirius satellite show. “There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business, and she’s never going to be in another movie She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?” Howard played segments of Oprah’s speech for Gabby from Oscar night on his show [and continued], “Oprah’s another liar, a filthy liar”, Howard added. “She’s telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she’s going to have a career.”
Co-host Robin Quivers continued to discuss the impossibility of Gabby finding work in Hollywood after her debut role in Precious. “And Oprah’s lying and saying you’re going to have a brilliant career”. [OK! magazine]
Oddly, Sidibe has already been cast again. I’m sure, much to Stern’s chagrin. According to OK!, she is set to appear on the Showtime series The C Word. Her next big-screen appearance will be opposite Zoe Kravitz in Yelling to the Sky.

a quick correction. stern is just a douche, he hasn’t been funny in well over a decade. early to mid 90s he was amazing. once his wife ditched him, he became a talentless hack.
that said, he’s pretty much right on the precious girl. she’s hot right now because oprah loves her. once oprah forgets about her (which will come fairly immediately unless her next role is as “inspirational” as precious) she’ll fade off into one hit wonder world.
that will last until she winds up on celebrity fit club which will be around the time oprah decides to stop being fat herself and transforms back to skinny oprah to bring up ratings for the last season of the her show.
gabby and oprah will lose some weight together along with at least one other female non celebrity and possibly a guy as well (ya know, to include us because we equal ratings too). being blessed by the touch of oprah once more, she’ll get another role or two before fading into oblivion.
depending on how much of an attention whore she is/becomes she’ll yo-yo her weight to get on a random show every now and then (think kirstie alley or that really fat guy richard simmons cried over every other year) always being referred to as “the star of precious” which no one will really remember.

To be frank, I had no idea Oprah was supporting her. I don’t like Oprah and I go out of my way to not pay too much attention to her megalomania/ what she’s whoring out today.

I agree that Stern is just, well, Howard Stern. And being Howard Stern comes with its attendant douche baggage.
As for Gabourey Sidibe’s future, no one can predict that. She obviously has natural talent. It’s all on her how far she wants to develop that talent.
No one would have predicted when “The Parkers” first aired 10 years ago that Mo’Nique would be Oscar-worthy; yet here she is today with one of those coveted little gold men on her mantel.
As my high school English teacher was fond of saying…the world is your oyster, it’s up to you to cultivate the pearl.
