Hilary Swank made the mistake of admitting being naked at home, and as such sparked controversy on a slow news day.
The actress, more specifically, admitted that she’s often nude in front of her boyfriend’s six-year-old son. The rather odd admission of nakedness came during an interview for the November 2009 Marie Claire.
She was talking about how every family is different, and is presumably lumping in this kid, not biologically hers. She says the child comes into their room every morning, after she has been sleeping without clothes.

The actress tells the new Marie Claire that she never wears anything to bed and that means her lover’s kid often sees her naked, prompting top psychologists to urge the Oscar winner to cover up.
In the article, Swank says, “My boyfriend’s son is six years old, and you wonder at what age you should stop walking around nude. Every morning he comes into the bedroom, and you’re just nude. But he doesn’t look twice; he doesn’t think about it yet.” Qualifying her Marie Claire remarks during a TV interview on Monday morning, the Boys Don’t Cry star added, “I think every family’s different and you have to know what’s right for you and your family.”
But top psychologists don’t agree. Dr. Jeff Cardere says, “Hilary, you’re not this child’s mum. What if things don’t work out with your present boyfriend…? Who knows what might happen in the future; what his psycho-sexual adjustment may be. It’s not a good thing.” (Canoe via ONTD)

oh good grief. if she wants to sleep naked, then let her. nothing is gonna happen to the kid if he sees a pair of boobs every morning. these folks need to chill, y’know?
It’s kind of gross – IMHO – it’s not even her kid… scar your own kid for life, lady.
I prefer to sleep naked, my BF also has a 6 yo son. Out of respect and sheer decency I put on jammies when Bubba is over. I would never DARE to expose myself to another persons child. Bathing with my infant ok, tossing my toddler in with me in the shower to save time, sure, but failing to cover up my girly bits in front of my bf’s son. MAJORLY NOT COOL. If I was that child’s mother I would seriously think about taking the dad back to court for full custody.

I completely understand what you’re saying. I don’t have kids, but I do have young, male siblings. I just think not caring about nudity when it’s not your own kid is off. Not sexualised, but still off. It would bother me if a kid of mine was around his father’s oft-nude gf. I think she is taking the “treating the kid as her own” a little too far.
