Grant Bowler: ‘Heh, Lindsay Lohan Never Yelled At Me’

Shortly after the New York Times piece about The Canyons was released, TMZ.com released audio of Lindsay Lohan cursing out her co-star James Deen (the nice guy who works in porn and has no friends). Deen, nice guy that he is, explained it away as a misunderstanding. Responding to questions about his own working relationship with Lohan, her Liz & Dick co-star Grant Bowler was all ‘Heh, she never yelled at me.’ He tells E! News: ‘I never got yelled at. We had a lot of quiet and intense conversations. We didn’t have that relationship at all. To be completely fair to Lindsay, that did not happen. She didn’t threaten me at all. We had a lot of quiet, serious conversations about characters and we worked very, very hard. And we both ensured that when we came to set, we came to set very, very serious. That’s the God’s honest truth.’ In other news about The Canyons, Lohan was reportedly paid $100-per-day for the movie and, in addition to eventually being fired and then re-hired for missing rehearsal, producers threatened to fire Lohan for not cooperating with the NYT writer who ended up excoriating her anyway for her mercurial nature on-set. And there’s a new preview of The Canyons that’s basically a dull three minutes of Lohan pacing back-and-forth and Deen’s sleep-acting. Lastly, apropos of nothing but there’s a piece in The New York Post today promoting an upcoming anti-Scientology book that reminds us that Lohan was once desirable enough to be a potential wife for Tom Cruise: ‘He was openly complaining about his lack of a girlfriend, and so once again [David] Miscavige tasked church members with solving this problem. Cruise himself held auditions at the Celebrity Centre, under the guise of casting for his next Mission: Impossible film. On his list: Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba, Kate Bosworth, Scarlett Johansson, [Katie Holmes], and Jennifer Garner, whom he found the most compelling.’
