GLAAD and ABC are in cahoots, sending each other sexts and Facebook messages back and forth so they can get their shish in order. The two organisations have been sending statements back and forth about the whole Adam Lambert being cancelled from three separate ABC performances shenanigans.
ABC sent a statement to GLAAD, stating that their decision to drop Adam Lambert from Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and a New Year’s Eve show, had nothing to do with his sexual orientation. From the reactions on this post it seems no one believes them, but that’s their story and they’re sticking with it. According to TMZ, ABC state the live performance at the AMAs differed greatly from rehearsals and caught the network off-guard. That alone was their reason to pull the plug on every freakin’ show of theirs, day or evening.
Today GLAAD backed the decision and said they believed ABC had “a history of positive gay and transgender inclusion that includes featuring kisses between gay and lesbian couples on-air”. Something interesting happened after the public backing; GLAAD informed TMZ that they asked ABC to clarify WTF constitutes caught off-guard, so that the community knows why Lambert is still being tossed from shows. Expect a convoluted reaction from ABC in… 3, 2, 1.

as always when a few, A FEW, individuals wants (demands) arent met the homophobe card gets pulled. adam is clearly under the impression that he has no real talen and must rely on the ‘controversy’ he can create to keep his 15 minutes going… the bottom line is that in a business the woners tend to go with what earns income, if there were really THAT many people that wanted homo sex, there would be MORE homo sex! money talks, beliefs and values walk! get over it, hes using his homo ness just the way carrie prajean tried to use her ‘values’……
Welcome back, Ken B. I think it may be homophobia… ABC pulled three performances and some of their actions indicate it’s more homophobia than “fear of what he’ll do on live TV”.
i still believe, an i am a self proclaimed idiot, that in the world f of business and a network is a business…. if there was a potential for increased profits by airing adam and his antics (YES, gotta luv the 80′s ref!!) they would not have a problem showing them. i still think the network knew all along that janet would expose her nipple at half time then backed away when it backfired. the only real limiting factor in their not being more gay kisses, references ect on tv is that gays ARE a minority, the majority of viewers are not gay therefore it doesnt make good business sense to air things that the viewing obedience isnt tuning in to see, thats it, plain and simple. adams insistance that it a gays issue only serves his own efforts to stay in the public eye, much like carrie used the anti-gay movement as a cover for her incredible stupidity. if viewers wanted to see gay acts, the network would show gay acts.
ok…so who did ABC send to threaten GLAAD?
Ikr – someone has nude pictures of someone on their iPhone… bwahaha.
I’m personally surprised by GLAAD’s reaction to this. That is something I would have expected from the HRC.
GLAAD has a tradition of being very vocal and confrontational on LGBT issues. It’s the HRC that has the tradition of bedding the enemy.
Me too – and so was just about everyone who chimed in on Twitter and the site’s FB Fan page too. It doesn’t make GLAAD look great to be sleeping with the enemy.
