Fergie covers Glamour magazine’s latest issue. Well, she has actually been given three covers. Those are all below. The December 2010 issue will be Glamour’s 20th Anniversary Special: Women of the Year edition. I’m not sure what Fergie, real name Stacy Ann Ferguson, has done to merit this other than be part of BEPs and release a few ‘meh’ products. But other contenders must have been busy shilling for other people. Yeah, maybe she got the cover by default? Whatever.
The singer, whose band is getting ready to release another album, was interviewed by Katie Couric. It’s less of an interview and more of a blowjob, if I’m honest. There’s an undue amount of circle jerking and too many hamfisted superlatives for my liking. ‘Two number-one singles with the Black Eyed Peas that spent a consecutive 26 weeks at the top of the charts, the longest streak for any group in years. Six Grammys, a worldwide concert tour and now a new album. I mean, do you sometimes have to pinch yourself?’ Um, is that really a question?
- On how she’s achieved this level of sucess: Well, for some lucky reason or gift from God, I’ve known what I wanted to do since I was a little girl. And even through disappointments and rejection, there was something inside of me that wouldn’t give up. I’m a survivor, and I’m very driven.
- On her workout regime to get her famous figure: Cardio, resistance and a lot of jogging. I love to go hiking. I’m bringing my trainer on tour. I said I’m going to invest this in myself, into my self-worth, into my self-esteem.
- On how she survives media scrutiny about her marriage to Josh Duhamel: Just by knowing that our relationship was stronger than that. We live in a voyeuristic world, and it’s part of our business. But I like to [focus on] all the perks that I get in this business.
- On how she handles other women hitting on her husband: Well, I knew, getting into a relationship with him, that girls were very attracted to him. He was filming a show called Las Vegas and was constantly around half-naked women. It was just the premise of the show. For me, I’m not a jealous person. That’s just not my thing. You have to have trust in your relationship.
- On her advice to young girls: I think a lot of young teenagers try to get [esteem] from accolades from other people, or boys, and what you learn as you get older is that you have to create that within yourself.
