Farrah Fawcett Died of Cancer Aged 62

Farrah Fawcett died of cancer at 9:28 AM today. This sad news was announced only a short time ago. Her long-term partner Ryan O’Neal and Alana Stewart were at her bedside (Redmond, her only child, was not present).

She passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica in the ICU. Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer back in 2006.

She had recently returned to St. John’s for treatment of complications from anal cancer, first diagnosed three years ago. Her longtime partner Ryan O’Neal was at her side throughout her final days.

Ryan O’Neal said, “She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages. She’s now with he mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”

“She was with her team when she passed … Her eyes were open, but she didn’t say anything. But you could see in her eyes that she recognized us.” (via People)

At least she won’t suffer any longer. R.I.P.

    1. I had no idea she was even so bad. I was hoping she would still have time to marry too. RIP.

  2. Mystery Man says:

I heard this morning that they thought it was going to be soon. A short while later, she was gone. The sad part is, she’s being overshadowed by Michael’s death. Guess that happens, he was the bigger star, and it was sudden with him while hers was drug out.

    R.I.P. to them both

    1. You are on the money MM. Virtually no one is talking about her anymore. She was mourned for less than 6 hours when news of Michael broke. If you go on any sites, it’s about him and his back catalogue. No one is still remembering her.

  3. Rain says:

The day just started off bad…and got worse.

    1. It was a slipperly slope for about 12 hours. I was actually on the phone to my mother yesterday telling her about MJ. My mother doesn’t give a crap about celeb news so I never tell her this stuff. That’s how huge this day was for me!

    For Farrah (Fawcett)

A great beauty has passed from this life.
Of good times and sometimes toil and strife.
Some will say that she went to a better place.
Look at the blue sky or a white cloud, you will still see her face.

Movements like those of a gazelle in flight.
Hair that shone like gold on a moonlit night.
Eyes that could touch your soul.
And essence like that of a red rose.

Farrah, you fought hard to stay here on earth with us.
But when God calls you, go you must.
Whenever we feel a summer breeze or april rain.
It will seem like you are near.
And in our hearts, your memory will always remain dear.
