I don’t know about you or anyone else, Amy, but I’m sick of the slimeballs in Hollywood rolling out these pseudo-nostalgia flicks like clockwork.

It’s almost as if there’s a short, blading old man chomping on an unlit cigar in a really dimly-lit room somewhere with actuary tables calculating when a certain age group has reached the peak of its earning/consumption curve. This guy then orders films based on anything and everything that made this particular age group squeal when they were tweens.

It’s sick and it’s making that little, bald old man very, very rich.

I say we hunt him down strangle him with a slinky.

I loves you Rain, you can keep your job. Everyone else can be fired, but you can stay on as badass commenter. I agree that lazy remakes suck balls. They suck worse when they look like an advert in disguise and not even a real project.

there is no excitement coming from me. not a fan of the original…been about 20+ yrs since I’ve seen it though, and I detest remakes. this is a waste of time, yet it will make money even if it sucks becuasie of the curiosity factor

OK, first of all…

I don’t think remakes are all that good. Second of all, remakes of television shows usually suck (with the exception of Charlie’s Angels). Third, I don’t wanna spend an hour and half watching kids dancing to rap music and that’s what it’s gonna be. The original worked because the music of that era was actually danceable when it wasn’t hurlable.

Oh and my last comment…

Why yes, the poster does somehow look like something for Coke on Crack. Maybe Croke? I hear they actually had the real thing in it wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back when.
