Chace Crawford doesn’t spend his nights simultaneously plucking his ‘brows and tweeting with his knuckles, you may like to know. The actor has been in the headlines, this week, for allegedly using Twitter to discuss the Captain America movie. The star is alleged to have written a message saying he is no longer in the running for the role as Captain America, wishing the person cast good luck. Thing is, he didn’t write the message. Moreover, that’s not Crawford’s Twitter.
Without making sure the account was his, several outlets spread the rumours about Crawford and linked to an account that spelt his name wrong @TheChaceCrawfor. Gossip Cop, who have a bothersome predisposition to fact-check, asked the star’s rep for comment. A member of Crawford’s management team confirmed to Gossip Cop the Twitter account does not belong to the actor. It’s a fake account that’s pretending to be him. That said, the account is now on his radar and probably won’t be up for much longer.

even though it wasn’t from him personally, I would wager it’ll be true soon enough. he just doesn’t fit Captain America, but then I’m not a casting director, so who knows, y’know?
It’s more the point how lazy some outlets are, copying and pasting off each other, and never stopping to think before hitting “Publish”.
