Ewan McGregor thinks that you are jealous of him, his millions, and his lifestyle. That is, assuming you are a fellow British actor and you are trying to make it big in Hollywood… you are, aren’t you? McGregor is reported to have made the comment, with regard to how British and American actors react to his career. He said of American actors that they congratulate him. He said of other Brits, that they seemed jealous of his roles in several big budget American movies.
The Moulin Rouge heartthrob is convinced that his American fans – and colleagues – are pleased for him but when he returns home to the UK he is met with negativity from Brit stars who are envious of how well he has done across the pond. According to the Daily Star, he said: ‘People in America seem to be quite happy for your success. ‘Back home it’s more, ‘You think you’re all that don’t you?’’ [Metro newspaper UK]

He’s right. It’s called ‘Tall Poppy Syndrome’. Australians also crucify those who experience overseas success but not if they’re humble. Ewan just needs humility because his American accent is laughable and his acting skills could be debated too. Besides, he got stuck into Minnie Driver years ago for ‘selling out’.
