Emma Watson covers and gives interview with Elle magazine for the August 2009 issue.
The actress has been on the cover of just about every tween and woman’s magazine in existance over the past month. She is being pimped out hard, as the girl eye-candy for the Harry Potter franchise and will be helping to bank the latest movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The male actors are working, but need to step their game up. They have done about half-a-dozen covers between them and are lagging in the generation of fangirl panty-moistening material. It’s almost as if they don’t care after nearly a decade, whether anyone goes to see the movie or not.
The Elle magazine August 09 Issue will hit the streets on wednesday, 1st July.

anyone who had anything to do with allowing that poor girl to think she looked good in any of those photos should be fired.
She is pretty, but over-styled. The eye makeup is comical and I don’t get the hair at all. Firing is harsh, I think 10 lashes with a whip is fairer.
but i don’t want fair, i want hot girls looking hot. the cover very clearly states “the new trends.” this might confuse some poor “i only read the cover” type girls to think THAT is something they should look into doing.
how many people looked at that and ok’d it? i’m thinking she’s got at least 1 handler and 1 press type person. the photog (of course he/she/it doesn’t count as they’ll say anything they do is good). and you’d have to imagine at least 2 people at the mag itself before they bring it to the big boss in charge for final approval. conservatively that’s 6 people who said “look we just took this really attractive girl and made her look like the queen of the biker zombies and i’m ok with that.”

Cover picture: That has got to be one of the top five weirdest looking shirts/tops/whatever I have ever seen in my life. It looks like it’s made of injection-molded plastic, or 3/4″ foam rubber. From the neck up it looks like she’s trying to channel Amy Winehouse, and that’s just a BAD idea. (I’m on Team Amy and all, but… no.) And judging by those three poses, I fully expect a headline this week that EW has been diagnosed with a case of rapid-onset and profoundly severe scoliosis.
I looooooooove the pants, though… I’ll be 18 months in the grave before I’ll ever fit into them, but I’ve always been a sucker for that kind of corsety lace-up look.
I kind of like the top, hate the material, but like the general style. I never even made the failed Amy Wino link, but yep, they went there when splattering on the make up. The fact that she seems unable to close her legs and sit in a ladylike manner concerns me more than her probably scoliosis. Her trousers make me think of Madonna for some reason. She wore something similar in the “4 Miunutes” video.
First off, models are in no way responsible for camera, makeup, or wardrobe. They just pose.
Having said that, the fashion troupes around Emma have been ridiculous. Other than Burberry, they’ve taken some weird, lame 80s, overglammed robot look for her which doesn’t suit her appearance at ALL! She has beautiful skin and it shouldn’t be hidden by pounds of make up. Save that sh!t for Agyness Deyn.
I agree, she is a natural English Rose type and frankly does not need the help. Though, you are right, it’s not her fault she’s worked the tranny clown look (famed by Christina Trannilera) on her last half-dozen magazine spreads.

She looks great but the spread – literally – is a bit much for someone so youthful looking. Pedophiles must adore her even though she’s of age now, they can image that Emma isn’t as they whack off.
I agree. She is such a cutie, so pretty and natural and needs some softer looks for promote her personal brand (should she ever get the chance to outside of HP).
