He would be shaking his fists with rage if he could see how people are peeing all over his memory, speaking ill of him and using his passing as a platform to get themselves back in the spotlight.

She’s saying she wants to keep her grief private and that she’s too ill/drugged/befuddled to make a statement. This candor is very admirable as far as I’m concerned. Public, emotional grandstanding is not a measure of love. Maybe it’s a guy thing, IDK.

This whole affair reeks of the aftermath of Princess Di’s sad passing. Not attractive. People can do their public homages and tributes for the world these days w/o creating stadium events for the sake of “BIG”. For all of his fame, he was a very private man and his memorial should reflect his real self, not the one he put on show for the public.

Welcome to the site Tania – you make some really great points. I think perhaps it’s a celebrity thing where you are “best friends” with anyone you have ever spent five minutes in a room with. The last pictures I’ve seen of them together was from over ten years ago, so who knows.

I really don’t understand Elizabeth’s comment, how can she claim to have loved him so much and not attend his memorial public or not, if you love someone it does not matter whos there as long as you are. Does anyone know if they were even in touch as of lately? Because Brooke Shields claimed to be his good friend, but the last time she saw him was in 1991.

She got the twitter about two months ago or something like that. By all accounts, it’s the real deal. The attrition rate on Twitter is astonishing. If you’d set an account the last time we talked, you would have bored of it by now!
