DJ AM’s funeral was held at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in West Los Angeles, California on September 2, 2009. The private service was attended by his mother, Travis Barker, Nicole Richie, Joel and Benji Madden and more.
The DJ, real name Adam Goldstein, has been revealed to have left an estate valued at $1 million. He was one of the best known DJs in the world and so of course he accumulate more than that in total. Goldstein had an annual gross income of $3.5 million and other property valued at $400,000. However, he had a debt of $2.9 million, leaving his estate valued at approximately $1 million.
At the time of his death, the DJ had no will. He was unmarried and had no children. This means that his mother, Andrea Gross, is his sole heir. She has said that she wants to oversee her son’s $1 million estate to clear up his financial matters, according to court papers filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday. According to People.com, his mother is also seeking court permission to recover his personal belongings.
I’ve seen and have access to the photos of the funeral. I have decided not to post them for the same reason that I steer clear of death photos. Cos, it’s icky. Also, damn. Some things needs to be kept private.
