DJ AM is expected to be buried sometime this week, in California.
It has been confirmed today that the body of the late DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, has been released to a funeral home. His body is currently being held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in New York.
There are still results being waited on, namely the toxicology report. The toxicology could still take several more weeks to come back. The autopsy uncovered nothing new and was actually inconclusive. This is problematic for several reasons, not least because hard drugs were found when his body was discovered and many want to know whether that was the cause of his death.
To date, the reason for his death is being reported as as a result of an overdose on prescription pills. Yes, like with Heath Ledger. Crack cocaine and a crack bottle were also found at his apartment.
The specific funeral plans have not yet been made public.
