The Demi Moore advert for Helena Rubenstein’s new fragrance, Wanted, can be seen before and after a sick photoshopper vomited rainbows and glitter all over it. I saw the original ad a good few hours before others picked up on it, but I was scared of being kneecapped by the photoshop mafia if I mentioned the actress had no knuckles or any cheekbones in the overdone advert. That is in the manner of W magazine when they tried to sue the Innanets for calling out their inability to confirm or deny, resolutely, whether they’d edited away Moore’s hip.
I think it’s safe to say that Moore is being stalked by the photoshop mafia. She doesn’t seem able to get away from them. She looks like she was knocked over the head, on the way home from her Recovered Cougars Anon. meeting, and made barely recognisable/ glittered against her will. As NY Mag points out, any joints or wrinkles have been stripped away. And, I don’t mean extraneous ones, I mean like normal age lines or even the wrinkle that should be around her neck as she turns her head in the photos. The original photo, on the right of course, was spotted on Ashton Kutcher’s TwitPic account, by an eagle-eyed Jezebel tipster. The photo is dated March 4, 2009, so apparently their eagle-eyes can see into the past. Or they stumbled on the photo, which shows Moore in the same dress and a similar position as in her ad, by accident. She’s prettier un-retouched, IMHO.

I think she looks good both before and after.
She’s such a stunning woman – my only point was that she doesn’t need the help. I also think she looks adorable, smiling, in the photo from Ashton’s Twitter.
Yep, I agree. Demi has natural beauty, she doesn’t need to be photoshoped.
Welcome to the site, and thanks for the comment, Czarina. Thanks – yeah, she’s a stunner and she’s glowing in the photo taken by her husband.

Hello Amy:
The picture from twitter was probably taken during a pre-production meeting to see if the wardrobe was going to work. ie: How the color would register on the film, if the style would work for all the different angles they were shooting it at. Her holding a peace sign is so they could see where the bottle would go. So, yes… the picture looks similar because it needed to be similar to what the storyboard and print ads would look like.
As you can see from the actual shoot footage that you posted, there is a guy in the commercial as well. From what I can ascertain, with the way digital technology is, they could have captured a frame from the commercial and then used it for print. Yes, they probably did do a little photoshopping on it… but, that’s the way the world works and that’s what the client asks for – I guess more importantly… what society asks for. We expect women not to age and to obtain the fountain of youth… and perhaps, that’s what the digital age is helping to achieve.
The date issue: The March 2009 pic is from the pre-production meeting, and perhaps the commercial was shot shortly thereafter, but if the product hadn’t been ready for release, they could have held back the release of the new commercial and print adverts.
Hope this helps with the understandings of the film industry. I did enjoy your writing style… it made me laugh! You’re very good!
Welcome to the site, and thanks for the comment/ compliment, Kiki.
Your comment answers a whole lot of questions I had about the time lag and the making of the photo. I much appreciate you taking the time to explain how this probably worked. Yeah, I understand that photoshopping is par-for-the-course. I didn’t realise it may have literally been a still from the moving film. Very interesting info.
Awesome! Very interesting facts, and I agree with Kiki, you have a natural talent writing something. You have a very special way with words and thoughts which I really admire.
Colin.
Hey Colin, thanks!
And, yeah, I too enjoyed Kiki’s insight.

[...] Check out Demi Moore’s Wanted ad, before and after photoshop. She kinda looks the same, just paler. – Amy Grindhouse. [...]
She’s absolutely beautiful in the pre-shopped photo. She has a very girl-next-door look and, frankly, looks younger. In the shopped photo she has the appearance of an older woman who has recently undergone a facelift.
Agreed – she looks very fresh in the before photo. Interesting, and I agree, she looks like she kinda had a facelift in the after.
Another ridiculous Photoshop aspect of the photo: the sea of hair she apparently has attached to her head. Compare her real hair in the candid pic with the 1/3 of the page it covers in the ad.
Those photoshoppers need to take frequent breaks, go for a walk around the block, and remind themselves what actual humans look like.
YES, Ally – well phrased. I never even noticed what the heck they did to her with all that hair!
Hahahha.
