It seems those quotes from Demi Lovato’s father, from an interview with Radar Online, were not as they seemed. Colour me shocked. Patrick Lovato has since complained to The New York Post that he was ‘misquoted’ jointly cursing Disney and Hollywood. Moreover, turns out he had no business speaking on behalf of his daughter. They’re estranged, Michael Lohan/ Lindsay Lohan-style. According to her mother, he had no place talking about a situation to which he’s not close. In 2009, Demi Lovato said that she hadn’t spoken to her biological father in years because, ‘When somebody lets you down after you’ve been the only one there for them… I had to cut off all connection. It was hurting me too much.’ Demi Lovato’s mother and stepfather are reportedly not happy that people think Patrick Lovato was giving official quotes on behalf of the family. The family lawyer told Page Six, ‘No one speaks for Demi except for her designated representatives. Unfortunately, several people have taken it upon themselves to speak out, on and off the record, about a situation they know nothing about.’
