David Carradine ‘Stretch’ Movie Rewritten

As you may have heard yesterday, Kung Fu/ Kill Bill actor, David Carradinepassed away in a Thai hotel.

Less than 24-hours after the star’s premature passing, the rumours and slander have already started to fly. I don’t have the strength on a Friday to join in with all that (even if I did have a policy of speaking ill/ spreading sex-based rumours about the dead). So, you may instead like to know that the producer of the movie Carradine was shooting says the show will go on.

This is fair enough in this industry, although there is an obvious sting in the tail. The people behind Batman did the same when Heath Ledger died and was impersonated via post-production trickery.

The people shooting the actor’s movie in Bangkok say they have already started to re-write the Stretch script.

TMZ just spoke with Charles Gillibert, a producer on “Stretch,” who told us David still had a few critical scenes left to shoot when he passed away Thursday morning. Gillibert says everyone on the set is devastated by David’s death, but producers still have a job to do — and are working hard to change the storyline to accommodate David’s absence.

Gillibert wanted us to know David was in wonderful spirits before his death, was in great shape and had been joking around with everyone working on the film. There is only one day left of shooting — which Gillibert says everyone is very eager to complete and put behind them. (via TMZ)

Thank you for putting a respectful note about this good actor. I hope his family and friends do what they can to stop all these horrible stories about his private life. No one needs to know anything private and personal even if true. He is robbed of his dignity and none of us would want to be treated like this.

    1. Welcome and thanks for the comment Lola – no problem, I generally make fun of celebrities but always stop well short of speaking badly about people who are ill (e.g. Farrah Fawcett) or people who have passed away. It boggles my mind that some people are happy to mud sling. I’d rather wait to find out the facts or not report at all.

  2. Firecracker says:

Thanks for the update. I haven’t covered this story at all.

    1. Frankly, I don’t blame you… depending on the actual news that comes out of this, this may be the last post on him.

  3. Mystery Man says:

let’s hope that this last role for him is a memorable one for him, y’know? best he be remembered for a good role than some cheesy informercial-esque role..did that mke any sense?

    1. I hope people can have good memories of him too – this is so humiliating and potentially libellous with all the rumours going around :(

  4. Guillermo says:

My sympathies to Carradine’s family. In this media crazed age sometimes there is too much information released about people.

Does anyone have a plot synopsis or description of “Stretch”? I am interested to find out what it is about and what Carradine’s final role will be.

    1. Thank you for the respectful comment Guillermo – I’ll let other commenters help you with the movie updates.
