Dakota Fanning New Moon Poster a Gap Fake

Dakota Fanning’s New Moon poster, promoting her character Jane of the Volturi, is a fake.

The above has been doing the rounds this weekend. However, it is really only fan-art, photoshopped using a Gap poster. I remember seeing this on the weekend. I saved it to have a better look at it later and when I went back to have another gander, it was gone. I thought it was odd, but what can I say, I moved on with my life.

The picture is pretty convincing. I mean, seriously. The Harry Potter posters are so over-photoshopped that the New Moon poster looking off-key was not enough to set off any warning signals.

I saw this earlier this morning and thought it looked familair, but wasn’t sure. further prrof no one can think for themselves these days…lol

    1. It does say in the post it’s fanmade. A lot of other blogs lazily claimed it was real without factchecking first.

Got to admit. That does look pretty cool.

It’s a good photoshop job. I knew it was a fake though before all the sites were posting it, though, as I saw it not long after it was announced that Dakota was playing Jane. It’s a cool look though. Definitely creepy.

I was wondering where the original pic of Dakota came from though!

    1. Welcome to the site Danielle and thanks for the comment. I think most US-based readers are pretty familiar with the Gap campaign and so knew this was fake too. It’s amazing how good fan art is these days though.
