At this point of everyone who ever released a single in the 2000s judging evermore-reductive talent shows, I’d almost forgotten that Christina Aguilera was a singer. A good one. As in, good enough that you’d forgive her for the contrived over-singing and runs on songs that didn’t need it. And I’d forgotten about the critical mauling of Bionic for which sales were underwhelming and a bunch of the singles flopped. I’m reminded of the remains of her career sandwiched in between episodes of The Voice (because the judging is really a shill for the judges’ singles not for new talent) with this single cover Aguilera shared. She’s basically redone the Stripped cover but hidden behind Photoshop, weave, lace, and her nostrils since we can see right up those. All of which is a useful distraction because I’m pretty sure she’s actually naked on this cover.
