Following news that Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman have broken-up after five years and a two-year-old son, Max Bratman, Aguilera has filed for divorce. The split has become official. The divorce papers follow Aguilera’s very short statement confirming that the couple have split but remain committed to raising their son (or some such predictable spiel). In news release a few minutes ago on TMZ, Aguilera cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. In a divorce petition filed today the date for the split is listed as September 11, 2010. There is a prenup, which asks the ‘earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation’ be considered separate property. Aguilera, represented by Laura Wasser, wants joint legal and physical custody of their son together, though she wants to terminate Bratman’s ability to get child support from her.
The rumours of why they split point to Aguilera cheating on Bratman, though her camp is refusing to comment on that story. Who might she have cheated with?
