But, whoever said actors behaved in a logical, civil fashion, lol. It is only in my dreamworld that people, especially the famous ones, behaved like well-adjusted adults. Sigh.

I used to love Billy Crystal – then I worked on “Analyze This” – Crystal was one of the co-producers of the film, so he was at the mix every day, and he was surly, rude, ordered his assistant around like he was a slave – - yuck. And the other star of the film, Robert DeNiro? Total sweetheart – nice to everybody, down to the lowly assistants like me. I would watch him read the phone book. Crystal? No thanks.

They say trust the art, not the artist, but I have a hard time separating the two.

Probably missed a few good films due to that issue, but I think I’ll live.

Or, could always get blind drunk, watch the movie, and have no memory of it. It has been known to happen….

@ MM – I think there was little to no backlash, it’s from November so people are over it. The Director jumped to his defence and all else has already been swept under the rug.

@ KMJ – Thanks for all this info… I had a good read while I should have been working today The DP sounds like an effing moron, but the tackiness of stopping everyone filming too and behaving like a petulant two year old is what tips the irony in the clip over the edge for Bale. Shouting I can take. Hypocrisy I cannot.

Frankly, I understand why Bale went bugshit, especially if the DP kept saying he “didn’t understand” – that really is amateur hour. It is one of the first things everyone learns when on any kind of set, film, sound, or music – when the red light goes on, Shut up and hold still.

I worked in post production for twenty years, and have been on a mixing stage with Oliver Stone, who was so moody and insane that he would throw fits over nothing, that made Bale’s look like a bedtime story. He had his crew in tears half the time when everything was going okay, so, to me, this is no big deal.

But that is just me – Oh, and Whoopie Goldberg basically said the same thing on “The View” this morning.

Considering the outburst happened 3 months ago, and it just now got out, ummmmm – the producers smelled a little publicity for their film, maybe? Producers will do anything to get people talking about their film. The producers are the true scumbags of Hollywood.

But I do have to agree – Bale went from regular “no accent” to “New Yawk” to British – I think all of his past characters were going off at the same time.
