Fhanks, sweet Amy.

For Bleaky- Girls Aloud? Ugh. I guess it could be worse, like Liberty X. However, none of them are dating American athletes. I'll stick w/the Sugababes.

The drugs stigma in the UK is pretty laid back compared to the US, so using drugs as an excuse for bad behavior doesn't sit as easily there as it does here. No surprise, seeing how Pete Doherty gets a flaccid scolding for being busted w/works and class As.

I was saying that the only British celebs I really pay attention to are Girls Aloud and you know bands like Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party. I was kind of under the impression that British tabloids were worse than the ones over here. And for whatever reason I know who people like Katie Price and Jodie Marsh are even though they aren't really known in the US. Although Katie and Peter's show was on E! for awhile. But then of course there is Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty who are more known for their drug use and arrests than they are for their music, which is sad because they are both talented.

Anyhoo, even though Chris' parents have denied abuse allegations, and I can understand why, I don't think that's something he would lie about. When Tyra Banks appeared on Oprah she talked about how Chris said he was so scared as a kid he would actually wet the bed. Rihanna talked about the abuse between her parents in Giant magazine I think it was. She also talked about how she used to fight her brothers all the time, which is slightly disturbing to think about now. This is the unfortunate reality for so many kids and a cycle needs to be broken. I don't want anymore girls growing up to think it's ok to be hit and mentally and emotionally abused. And I don't want any boy to think it's ok to hit a woman. I guess now we wait until one of them appears on Oprah, or worse Tyra!

Ok, let me just say that i’m sure there are some British celebs who have used drugs as their excuse for doing something incredibly stupid and then decide to suddenly find Jesus. Or idk, the only British celebs I really keep up with are the ladies in Girls Aloud.

Hi sugar. I do follow UK celebs, I just don't have time to write about them, as they don't get many page views. Following them and noting their assorted breakdowns, I have to say, um, not so much on the above. I think I'm right. It is a quite uniquely (annoying) American celebrity thing, to f*ck up and then conveniently find/ blame your religion. British celebs just quietly go to rehab and don't tend to bother with that particular lame excuse. They blame familial issues etc. instead. UK stars don't talk about religion in the same way US stars do, as it's just not talked about as much in this country in general.

As I mention in the post/ it says it in the video, Chris was not allowed to talk for legal reasons due to it being an ongoing case at the time. It was not really anything to do with his reps. His career never really stalled either, much to my dismay. You have made some very good comparisons on the morality of this tale. Some celebrities have gone away for attempted murder etc. and people act like their sh*t doesn't stink.

Chris' parents have denied the abuse allegations, so it's his word against theirs. Would not surprise me if in any way, if history was repeating itself. They both made PR booboos. Posing on jetski's/ going clubbing does indeed make today's kids think this level of abuse is something hashed out on the weekend and you should be over it by Monday.

That being said, his apology did sound sincere and i'm sure both of their reps have told them not to say anything. But because he knows that people hate him, he finally decided to say something. Most likely to save his career. And I will say that I think he is talented and had alot of potential and I think he deserves a second chance. Someone asked why he was catching so much heat when stars older than him have done worse and still continue to work, like say Sean Penn. What Sean Penn did to Madonna was never really talked about and now we live in an age where everything is instant and we hear about it a minute after it happens. I actually remember tweeting about why both him and Rihanna weren't going to be at the Grammy's earlier this year.

Both of them unfortunately witnessed alot of abuse when they were younger and it obviously affected them both. Again, I know their lawyers and reps have told them not to say anything but what bothered me is that Rihanna herself didn't speak out. If she can sell lipgloss she can start some sort of campaign to tell young girls that being in abusive relationships isn't ok and they can get help. I mean, something. Instead she has been out at clubs and other random places making it seem like she forgot about that one time her boyfriend gave her a black eye. Now that I think about it, I blame that on her people for making it seem like going out to parties is a good way to show you've gotten over a horrible situation.

Very, very astute observation Pauls. Maybe it goes someway to showing it's done off his own back and it's less of a PR set-up. A PR rep would know better than to dress him in a "angry" colour.

Tell me about it, that's such a lazy American, blanket excuse. I hate when idiot tween stars thank God for their VMAs like He has nothing better to do. I also hate when wayward stars claim faith will cure them of their wrongdoing.

Oh, and poor color choice w/that shirt. Reddish hues come off antagonistic. He should've gone with yellow or gone w/a greenish something. He has a good complexion that would go w/almost any color, so there's no excuse here.
