As an update to the earlier post about the abduction and later return of Jaycee Lee Dugard after 18 years, a man named Philip Garrido has finally been arrested.

The man in the mugshot photo above is Philip Garrido, the man arrested for the kidnap of Dugard when she was aged only 11. The shot in the gallery below (far right) details his measurements and also what is belived to be Philip Garrido’s address.

Dugard walked into a police station in Antioch, California on Wednesday (August 26, 2009). She claimed to be the missing person, now aged 29, and family and friends believe her story.

She’d been held in a backyard compound by Garrido, who is a convicted sex offender. Philip and his wife Nancy Garrido were arrested for kidnapping and conspiracy, after being seen with two young children at the University of California, Berkeley. Police believe the two children were born by Dugard, with Garrido. The two girls are now aged 11 and 15, and are believed not to have attended public school.

Jaycee Lee Dugard, abducted as a child in 1991, has been found.

Jaycee Lee Dugard disappeared from her home in South Lake Tahoe on June 10, 1991. She was just 11 years old. Much to the astonishment of the people behind the desk at the time I’m sure Dugard, now aged 29-years-old, walked into a police station in Antioch, California on Wednesday (August 26, 2009). She claimed to be the real girl who was abducted all those years ago and the police thankfully believed her.

I’m hoping for the sake of the family that this is the real woman and not a hoax. The woman claiming to be Dugard has spoken to family members including her mother, Terry Probyn and stepfather, Carl Probyn. The aforementioned believe she is their missing daughter.
