Guess Which of These is The Real Cheryl Cole

…anyone who’s watching this season of X Factor should be able to work out pretty quickly which of these is the real Cheryl Cole. The singer and television presenter can be seen in these pictures, wearing a short puffy white skirt, leather jacket, and Brian Atwood heels. With hair dyed dark red. Making her waxwork noticeably out-of-date. The red hair being part of her promotional work for L’Oreal; she used a £5.99 L’Oreal home-dye kit (specifically Casting Creme Gloss in shade #550 Mahogany). Well, perhaps that’s all moot. The wax figure, unveiled this morning at Madame Tussauds in London, was styled after the star’s appearance at the 2008 Fashion Relief show at London Fashion Week. Wearing the same sequined Jean Paul Gautier dress and tiara from Naomi Campbell’s charity event two years ago, the waxwork also has Cole’s old blonde highlights. Being the only one of the five Girls Aloud members to have a waxwork, the figure coincides with Cole’s second album, her new music video, and the X Factor live finals.

Glee Stars Sound Uncomfortable With GQ Shoot

The main stars of Glee, assuming that one could label the people who take up the most screen time the ‘main stars’, cover the latest issue of GQ. The multi-talented actors star on the November 2010 issue of GQ magazine. Glee’s Lea Michele and Dianna Agron (who looks uncomfortably older than last season IMO), both 24, are barely dressed and posing with their asses out and legs open.

It’s actually pretty gross in places but then this is a Terry Richardson photo shoot and so of course the women are going to be virtually naked and posing like they’re shooting 70′s porn; my guess would be there was actual porn jazz playing in the background. Case in point, Cory Monteith, 28, who looks it which makes it even more disturbing in the context and having his hands on the girls’ asses, is not only fully-dressed he’s wearing a thick tweed-style pant and two effing shirts. Michele isn’t allowed to wear pants or close up her shirt and yet Monteith is dressed like it’s snowing in the studio. Both girls’ bras are on show and they’re posing like deranged, hyper-sexual extras from the Baby One More Time video. The girls even give quotes in which they sound uncomfortable. Michele said of shooting with Uncle Terry, ‘I don’t know how they got me to do half the stuff I did.’ In that vein, Agron said ‘I’ve never been shot in so little clothing.’

Other People are P**sed About Glee Lesbian Kiss

This is the scene from this week’s Glee that upset some conservative groups.

No one would have predicted that a show with openly gay and bisexual characters, characters open in their sexual orientations since the first season, would p**s off a bunch of repressed homophobes. Perhaps that language is a little strong. Every one’s entitled to their own opinion. They’re not ‘repressed homophobes’. They’re ‘mildly annoyed homophobes expressing an opinion with which I do not agree’. There. Fixed. Said group, who go by the name of The Conservative Media Research Center, are mildly annoyed about the gay neck-nuzzling and reference to ‘scissoring’, that even threw me for a second, on this week’s episode of Glee. I watched the episode and saw the girl-on-girl action that got everyone talking. It was a few seconds and both girls were fully dressed.

It was more neck kissing than making-out. Then Santana Lopez says ‘It’s a nice change from all that scissoring’ (a non geo-blocked video of the scene can be watched at the Jezebel review of this week’s show). For those who don’t know of the phrase or where the band Scissor Sisters got their name… you’re going to have to look it up, as I don’t know how to describe it without using obscene hand gestures to demonstrate. The show airs at 8PM and seems to have hit a nerve. Probably with parents who had to explain scissoring to confused children watching the show. It was called ‘a disgusting gay teen sex romp’ by the same group.

Dan Gainor, VP of Business and Culture at the Conservative Media Research Center, says based on this latest episode the shows creator, Ryan Murphy, ‘spends his days fantasizing about teen girls scissoring on the bed in what the media tell us is a family-friendly show.’ It should be noted that this comment is on the hilarious side of inflammatory as, if nothing else, Murphy is openly gay.

Two of Glee’s Cheerios Share Girl-on-Girl Kiss

Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) Glee girl-on-girl kiss video.

My two favourite Cheerios, Santana Lopez and Brittany S. Pierce, made-out last night on the most recent episode of Glee. The sexual relationship between the two characters on the show is hardly news; it was revealed in season one that the girls enjoyed a more fluid sexuality and as well as dating males they’d slept with each other. Some have written whole articles breaking down their dynamic and what defines their sexuality. In a season one episode entitled Sectionals Pierce could be heard on the phone while she stood next to Lopez saying, ‘Sex isn’t dating, if it were Santana and I would be dating’. They’ve been sleeping together on and off the whole two seasons so far and they have the cutest relationship holding hands, cuddling and showing genuine affection for each other; Pierce being the only person Lopez uncrosses her arms for. The two made-out and the clip, from HULU, can be found above. Stills from the episode are below for those who can’t watch the video (stills and video are probably both semi-NSFW).

Lady Gaga at 15-Years-Old on The Sopranos

The Sopranos season 3 episode 9 The Telltale Moozadell featuring Lady Gaga.

I saw this yesterday but was having an entire day of being too over Lady Gaga to post about her. It’s kind of like having bad gas for a whole day, but requires you not to wear pants. Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, in 2001, age 15, was on an episode of The Sopranos, a show I managed to not acknowledge its entire lifespan. Seriously, this and Mad Men. It’s like they never existed. I’m not that excited about this but thought you guys might dig it. So, here’s Gaga’s attempt at method Coca Cola drinking. It’s a marvel. The Sopranos episode titled The Telltale Moozadell, the part featuring Gaga anyway, can be watched above.

Banksy’s Sweatshop Opening for The Simpsons

Banksy directs the opening sequence of The Simpsons and tags his moniker all over Springfield. The British street artist, famed for doodling expensive doodles and having some of them washed off, made sure that this weekend’s opening credits were the most depressing ever when given the chance to show off his talents. Because there’s no way in which people can be educated about the wrongs of what’s effectively slave labour without depressing them into changing the channel, Banksy used a unicorn and and a small child to make this whole extended sequence more watchable. Offering an exceedingly bleak take on the practice of having animation work done overseas, inspired by reports that the show outsources the bulk of their animation to a company in South Korea (despite other reports to the contrary and The Simpsons being animated on computer since 2002), the title shows sweatshop workers in poor conditions.

Banksy claims his storyboard led to delays, disputes over broadcast standards and a threatened walk out by the animation department. He actually has a YouTube channel on which he uploaded this video. As I suspected, he (probably) didn’t ask before uploading and this got yanked prematurely. Screen caps are below and the video can be watched in its entirety on Gizmodo. Oh, and I have it on reliable word that no unicorns were harmed during the making of this title sequence.
