Katie Price Confuses Old, New Hubby on Live TV

Katie Price made a rather large boo-boo on live television, yesterday morning.

The recently re-married mother-of-three made an appearance on UK television show This Morning. It’s a well-watched programme that airs live, and leaves little room for such unfortunate errors. The reality star was on the show to promote some annoying product/ TV show/ book or another. Or, maybe she went on TV because insessent fame-whoring is her elixir of life and she’d actually die without it. Oh, my mistake. She was promoting her line of edible toddler make-up for which her own daughter, two-year-old Princess Tiaamii, will be the face.

The 31-year-old was asked, by one of the show’s hosts, about her new marriage with husband Alex Reid; she and Reid married February 2, 2010, and Price said on her reality show that unlike her last marriage she was eager to change her last name. Referring to their wedding, Price accidentally mentioned ex-husband Peter Andre, saying “mine and Pete…”. She quickly corrected herself, saying, “I mean, mine and Alex…”. I’m sure Reid is thrilled she’s yet to get the marriages straight in her head. I guess that’s better than yelling Andre’s name in bed.

South Park Kids Play a Tiger Woods Video Game

Two of the demented kids of South Park, Stan and Cartman, play a bizarre video game on the season premiere of the show. The pretend game shows an animated Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren hitting each other with golf clubs. This would be like making an animated game where I’m shooting up, or shaking my cha-chas to pay my latest light bill. It’s a past-its-best cheap shot. Those others among you with lazy, time-delayed, senses of humour can watch this snippet.

Miquita Oliver Suspended for Insulting Ke$ha

A report from the UK’s ITN, which further explains what happened at the NMEs.

British TV host Miquita Oliver has been proverbially wrapped over the knuckles for insulting one-hit-wonder, Ke$ha. For one reason or another the nobody, quasi-singer was an attendee at the NME awards. The singer and host sat down for an interview, which can be viewed below. Afterward, no doubt feeling her brain melting out of her ears after suffering through such an asinine interview, Oliver said a naughty swear about Ke$ha. Sucks for her that the singer’s people overheard, and complained to her bosses at TV’s Channel 4; 4 being a channel with whom Oliver has been employed for nine years, though she’s only 25-years-old. After the cursing, at the February 2010 awards, and Ke$ha’s people making the complaint, Channel 4 issued this spineless statement. They further clarify the issue, and explain that Oliver had been forced to apologies.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 has confirmed the suspension, explaining, “Miquita Oliver was involved in an issue at the NME awards that she now regrets. The matter has been dealt with swiftly by T4. Miquita has also sent an apology to those concerned and it has been noted.” [Starpulse]

Simon Cowell Getting Married Within 10 Years

Simon Cowell and his tweaked, furry man-nips were caustic as ever on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The multi-millionaire music mogul was on the show for reasons that I can only attribute to his ongoing penchant for wearing open button shirts and showing off his chest fuzz. And show off his chest fuzz he did.

In his too-tight jeans, man heels, and V-neck, he spoke with Leno about life’s little trivialities… like getting married. If anyone wants the scoop out of Cowell, they of course would have to work for it. He finally gave up the following…

“Well, I do have somebody in my life now Jay, yes. And I kinda made a decision this year to make somebody happy so that’s how I…it’s called giving back,” Cowell said, gallantly comparing getting engaged to making a donation to charity. “Look, I bought her the ring in London.” Cowell then confirmed that the wedding will take place “within the next 10 years” and Jay can “do the flowers” if not be the best man, but he’s not sure if the nuptials will take place in the U.K. or the U.S. [E! I wonder who is going to be wearing the tighter outfit at this wedding. I bet Tommy, of Tommy and Katie fame, gets an invite and gifts Cowell with a sparkling onesie that outshines the bride. Well, we can only but hope.

The Academy Awards press room takes place after the winners have scooped their awards. They get the chance to pose again, after hitting the red carpet.

After 38 years, Bridges [won]. He won a Best Actor Oscar at Sunday’s ceremony, his first ever Academy Award, for his role as a drunken country singer who finds redemption in Crazy Heart. He was first nominated for The Last Picture Show,1971. “Mom and dad! Yeah look! Woo-hoo! Thank you mom and dad for putting me onto such a groovy profession. This is honoring them as much as it is me”, said Bridges. [Pop Crunch]

Sandra Bullock Best Actress Oscar Winner 2010

Apparently I fell out of bed, on the wrong side, and landed in a parallel universe where Sandra Bullock got acting lessons. She’s cute as crap, don’t get me wrong. Her never-plucked ‘brows and tough-cookie persona do her credit. In fact, she was so outstanding in cinematic masterpieces such as Speed that she should have won in every Oscar category and quite some time ago. But alas she only just won now (even though she was up against much more seasoned actresses).

The star won at the 2010 Academy Awards (fancy people name for the Oscars) last night, the same night I apparently developed a hardened drug habit that affected my memory. She scooped the Best Actress for her well-received role in The Blind Side. A movie I may go and attend, should I ever go blind as I gather that’s one of the requisites of enjoying its wonders. Excerpt from her speech…

While accepting her award, Bullock thanked “what this film was about for me, which are the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from.” Bullock saved time to thank her mother “for not letting me ride in cars with boys until I was 18, because she was right. I would have done what she said I was gonna do.” [Pop Eater]

Kathryn Bigelow Wins Best Director Oscar 2010

Kathryn Bigelow made history last night as the first ever female to win the Best Director Academy Award for her movie, Hurt Locker. The movie scooped a number of gongs last night, including Best Picture. Bigelow was presented her award by Barbra Streisand who commented that the win was “about time”.

“There’s no other way to describe this. It’s the moment of a lifetime,” said Bigelow, clearly stunned by the enormity of the moment. The Hurt Locker was the night’s big winner, with six awards overall, including Best Picture. Bigelow had become the front runner over the lengthy awards season, leaping over her ex-husband James Cameron, who helmed Avatar. She dedicated her award to soldiers fighting around the world. Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin Oscars Monologue

The Oscars monologue was done this year by arguably past-their-best, but still funny when drunk, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. The stars gave an intro to the show, in which they were lowered from the ceiling. After which they began to bust the balls of the people in the audience. The video of their hijinks is below.

“Meryl Streep holds the record for most nominations as an actress, or as I like to think of it, the most losses,” joked Martin. They continued to joke about Gabourey Sidibe, the cast of Inglorious Basterds, Helen Mirren. When it came to George Clooney, the pair were speechless. The pair put on 3-D glasses when they spotted James Cameron. [Pop Eater]

Sean Penn Wishes Rectal Cancer on His Critics

Okay, the above steals the award for the weirdest post title I’ve ever needed to write on this site. Usually all the weird post titles have something to do with either Lady GaGa, boobies, or both. But this time, no such luck. But you do have Sean Penn and his often well-hidden crazy. Penn is thinking a little too far ahead, in terms of Christmas presents, for my liking. I like to start thinking about presents whenever the Christmas creep bum-rushes me early Summer. In any case I don’t think I’ve ever wished rectal cancer, or any other kind of cancer, on a critic of mine. I don’t have the most vocal critics, sadly. And even if I did, I’d wish something more fun like a plague of locusts on them or something.

Penn takes the cake/ wins all the spare Internets I can get my hands on for this.

Sean Penn is slamming cynics who have criticised his recent trip to Haiti. In an interview this weekend on CBS News’ Sunday Morning, Penn says he ignores the negative chatter: “I guess I’ve been so away from it all, and our tent camp in Haiti that I haven’t had an awful lot of time to pay attention to them,” he says. “You know, do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.” [Us Weekly magazine]

You hear that? He not only hopes you die from rectal cancer, he hopes you die screaming. There, now. Don’t you feel better about not really liking him anyway?

Jessica Simpson Claims She Only Gained 10 lbs

This will be submitted without too much comment. Except for a comment about how I’m pretty sure 8 of Jessica Simpson’s self-proclaimed 10 pound weight gain was on her nose, as it got bigger from all her lie-telling. On her appearence on Oprah, one of the many things she whined about was the criticism she received for gaining weight. She goes on to say she found the extra attention bothersome.

Jessica Simpson, 29, on the mom jeans/ weight jokes at her expense: “The fact I was famous last year for gaining 10 pounds is ridiculous and really sad. It would bother any woman, I would think,” she said. [NY Post]

It wasn’t bad enough that she became the butt of tasteless jokes, her extra pounds packed on feelings of guilt: “I didn’t want to sit down and talk with anybody about it, because I felt guilty,” she said. “I felt like, you know, if people look at me and maybe they’re a size bigger, they look at themselves and they think they’re fat. I don’t want other people to feel fat if they’re a size 6 or whatever size they are.”
The 5-foot-3 Simpson claims that those mom jeans were only a size 4 and that she fluctuates between size 4 and 6, although OK! magazine reported last year that she told a friend she had ballooned to an 8: “It’s a really hard thing for me to talk about,” she said. “Because I celebrate women of all sizes, and I think we’re all beautiful.”
