I’d almost forgotten Christina Aguilera existed. She’d slipped almost entirely off my radar, and so when I stumbled on the news that her album release had been confirmed for June 8, 2010, I was more than shocked. Shocked in the way I’m shocked to find I have cereal but no milk, each morning. As in, it would be less shocking if each of my braincells would have the good manners to work in unison.
Aguilera has been off quietly mothering, filming her new movie Burlesque with Cher, and such. That or she’s been pounding the streets and falling out of clubs, and otherwise being raucous, and somehow I didn’t notice. The cover art, above, is for her album Bionic. She went a little too literal with the art for my taste.
The album, Bionic, features songs co-written by Christina along with collaborations including Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch, and Ladytron among others. There’s even a ballad produced and written by Linda Perry titled Lift Me Up. [Just Jared]
“Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to ‘Bionic,’” Christina said. “My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magical.” [Pop Crunch]
