Jaycee Dugard opposes plans for a film about her kidnap.

Jaycee Lee Dugard, the woman kidnapped in 1991 aged 11 who found her way back to her family 18 years later in her twenties with two daughters of her own, objects to plans to make a film about her experiences in captivity.

Dugard and her family spoke by way of their rep, and said they opposed plans for a movie about Dugard’s time as a sex slave. The film’s tacky title Abducted Girl, An American Sex Slave is almost as sick as trying to profit off the back of some one’s misery. I smell a lawsuit in the works to follow their opposition to the project, or that might just be the smell of low-budget exploitation.

Jennifer Hudson will play Winnie Mandela in Winnie.

Jennifer Hudson is set to play the wife of Nelson Mandela, in a biopic named after the woman herself. Winnie, the Darrell J. Roodt-directed movie, will film in the South African locations of Johannesburg, Cape Town, Transkei and Robben Island. The movie production begins May 30, 2009.

Any movie that stars Hudson is a good thing. Like a diet of all Jelly Beans is a good thing. This would be a larf, watching her act her fellow co-stars off the screen, like she did to Beyonce Knowles in the monstrously horrible movie that was Dreamgirls. But this movie is of course going to be all political and serious. So, it’ll be markedly less appropriate to snort with laughter, every time she acts one of her co-stars off the screen in this movie as well.

Courteney Cox has signed up for a role in Scream 4, the latest in a string of unnecessary horror sequels certain to scare movie-going audiences for all the wrong reasons.

Courteney Cox, 45, is currently filming her MILF-y show, Cougar Town. I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing it, but I gather it’s a thoughtful drama about ageing beauties in bikinis. Clearly bored of being the ageing hot stuff in Cougar Town, while it’s still clogging up the airwaves in place of actual entertainment, the actress has signed up to play a similar role in the fourth Scream movie.

This movie is the shoehorned in addition to the long-tired franchise, which ended perfectly sensibly in Scream 3. At the time, I remember the disdain and the feeling of it being another bloody Scream movie. Eventually the filmmakers decided to label it a trilogy and tie up loose ends, to appease bored fans. Not sure what they’re going to do with this film, as the last one only left so many places for the plot to go. I’ll be cowering behind my couch when this comes out, to make sure I don’t see this by accident. I’d advise y’all to do the same.

The former Friends actress will be joined by husband David Arquette whom she met during the first movie, and the franchise’s lead, Neve Campbell.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson dating has been semi-confirmed by the director of Twilight.

Catherine Hardwicke, Twilight director, gave an interview with Time magazine and discussed the relationship between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Hardwicke initially thought Stewart was too young and warned Pattinson off. She probably told him jail bait was not as delicious as say McDonald’s. However, by the next film the actress was legal and so Pattinson got the green light.

“After I cast him, I told Rob, don’t even think about having a romance with her, she’s under 18. You will be arrested.” (Today, Stewart is a legal 19 while Pattinson is 23.) Hardwicke can’t confirm whether the pair hooked up while making Twilight, but had close conversations with Stewart about the situation. “In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film.” But the director then adds a tantalizing thought: “I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.” (via Us)

Eva Mendes made a little slip up at the New York premiere of Bad Lieutenant at SVA Theatre.

Eva Mendes made a silly slip up on the red carpet, which is somewhat out of character. Mendes, to be clear, is about as stunning as any one person is allowed to be, before their looks are considered a threat to public safety. She is a class act and so we can assume that her chesticles making a run for it in front of the cameras is a covert plan they hatched up for a laugh, without her knowledge.

The new Angelina Jolie movie, which has been titled simply Salt, finally has its own trailer.

This is another movie in which skinny-mini Angelina Jolie minces around on the screen, in need of a sandwhich. The actress was photographed earlier in the year filming her action-packed scenes for the role. Assuming she hasn’t wasted away by the end of the film, she should kick some serious butt.

Russell Brand will cut off his trademark long locks, for the sake of a Hollywood career.

Russell Brand knows that looking about as groomed as Robert Pattinson on an off day could restrict future movie roles. The 34-year-old TV presenter has his sights set on Hollywood. He has denied earlier rumours that he would have to cut off his mane, in order to play the lead in a remake of Dudley Moore’s Arthur. However, he acknowledges that looking like a particularly well-encrusted homeless person means he is only going to be able to play sessy transients.

He said, ”I can’t keep always playing long-haired, scruffy men, otherwise my career would be limited.” But a sensible short-back-and-sides might be on the cards if Brand wants to fulfil his ultimate ambition – to play France’s post-revolutionary military dictator Napoleon Bonaparte.”

He continued, ”I was hoping one day to play Napoleon, but I can’t play Napoleon as this shaggy-haired, bearded raconteur. ‘But I did also want to play Rasputin, so that’ll be good, I can look like this.” (via the UK Telegraph)

Winona Ryder told Blackbook that Angelina Jolie never thanked her properly for securing her a plum Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted.

During the 1990s Winona Ryder had an odd habit of begging directors to cast more talented actors to star opposite her. She fought for Christian Bale to star in Little Women and she also asked the director of Girl, Interrupted to cast Angelina Jolie. For one reason or another Jolie being a saint was not enough to get her the role. Ryder claims she had to fight very hard in order for the pouty actress to land the role as Lisa Rowe, which won an Academy Award in 1999.

Rather than do as most of us, and keep her chip on her shoulder to herself, Ryder has decided to air her gripe. She claims that even after ten years she has never gotten a thank you from Jolie, after landing the role on her behalf.

Winona Ryder tells BlackBook that she was responsible for Angelina Jolie getting the Girl, Interrupted role that won her a 1999 Oscar. “I fought very hard for her to have that part,” she says. “And a simple thank you would have been nice.”

“I feel like it won’t read in print very nicely if I say that wasn’t really her style,” Winona says. “But she seems to be a completely different person now.” Still, Winona insists: “I never had any bad feelings about Angelina.” (via LA Times)

The movie trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has finally been released.

This is the movie in which Jake Gyllenhaal does things without a shirt on. He may also do something that resembles acting, but most of all, he is sans shirt for enough time to make it worth spending your money on the movie.

This should compensate for making fangirls wait for this crap for over a year, from when teasers started being released. It’ll be boring as heck, sure, but there doesn’t really have to be a half-decent reason to stare at this man for two hours.

Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time is going to be released on May 28, 2010.

Robert Pattinson, star of Twilight Saga, did a photo shoot and interview for Vanity Fair December 2009.

Robert Pattinson is to star in the upcoming November 2009 movie Twilight Saga: New Moon. The actor is considered one of the most rugged and handsome of his ilk, though some of us have had our eyes checked in the last ten years and see not much more than another greasy homeless person when we look at him.

Pattinson seems to have had some of the grease soaked up for the Vanity Fair shoot, per the outtakes under the cut. The rolls of greaseproof paper I sent him in the mail, wrapped in a pair of fangirl’s panties to make sure they were opened, really seem to have come in handy. He also seems to have shaved. Well, not the day the photos were taken of course, but perhaps some time the week beforehand which is better than he usually manages.

It’s almost as if the magazine banged down his door and surprised him with the shoot, not allowing time for even the most basic grooming. His fans don’t seem all that fussy, which is probably why he continues to leave the house and be captured on film looking quite such a state.

• For the record, however, Pattinson says the rumors of a love affair are false: “It doesn’t make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]. I’ve literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it’s like ‘Oh, they were on secret dates!’ It’s like ‘Where? I can’t get out of my hotel room!’ ”
