Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will be appearing on Saturday Night Live’s season premiere this weekend, along with Olympic gold medal winner, Michael Phelps [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

An Obama spokesperson told People magazine:
“The details of the sketch are still being worked out.”
Meaning:
‘We have no f*cking clue how we are going to handle all of this hottness and milk this ratings winner, for all it’s worth.’

Micheal ‘The Dolphin’ Phelps’ halo lost a little of its lustre today [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
The Olympic swimmer was caught on camera grabbin’ some Lass Vegass tail and was even absent minded enough to get caught on camera!
Journo for Radar, Neel Shah, was on a trip to Vegas and brought back with him something a little more interesting than the norm (a nasty case of crabs/a coke habit/ gambling debt). The hack brought back pics of Phelps:
“massively skeeving on girls at the Playboy Club” in that city’s Palms Casino.

Michael Phelps just keeps bringing the sexi [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
Starting today and for the first time in its history, Sports Illustrated magazine will turn one of its covers into a poster for the public to buy.
The poster will feature the already iconic image of Phelps sporting his 8 gold medals.
The cynical side of me feels this is more to do with profiteering and striking while the Olympic iron is hot, than celebrating this historic moment.
Phelps formed the following coherent sentence on the matter:
“I have spoken at length about my desires to help grow the sport of swimming and I am truly honored that Sports Illustrated has chosen to create this commemorative poster for fans across the US and around the world. I hope the poster will serve as a reminder to all that anything is possible.”

Jennifer Lopez is lost as to why people find Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals more interesting than her triathlon training [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
JLo is training for the 22nd Annual Malibu Triathlon… but no one seems to care.
Despite the fact that she has been working off her baby weight since she first gave birth, the details of her training regime have not been in the news.
Disappointed and no less the Diva for being a new mother, Lopez has been whining that that bastard (read talented athlete) Phelps has been stealing all the sporty lime-light.
A source on the set of the morning show told MSNBC’s The Scoop that JLo just doesn’t understand why everyone is talking about “that swimmer” and not about her:
“She couldn’t come up with (eight-time gold-medal winner Michael) Phelps’ name, and then she yammered on about how she was the one training for a triathlon just six months after giving birth, and how that was the big story right now, not ‘the swimmer.’ ”

I am a girl, so maybe I am missing something… but isn’t Sports Illustrated a nudie magazine that usually features ladies in various states of undress? Anyhoo, S.I. seem to have gone in a new direction and put a half-naked man on the cover instead.
‘Human Dolphin’ Phelps, shot the cover on Sunday night, in China.
The art direction is a nod to Mark Spitz, the former Olympic swimming champ who showed off the seven golds he won at the 1972 Munich Games.
Which of the two images do you prefer?
The Sport Illustrated Issue will be on news-stands tomorrow.
