Mariah Carey has just given people their first official look at the cover of Obsessed; the lead single off her upcoming album, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel.

The fansite that posted the image make the note that this “is not the ALBUM cover. It’s for her single, debuting [16 June 2009]. Album due out in [August 25 2009], [and there is] no cover for that yet.”

The photoshop elves have been busy and hard at work, photoshopping the Mooster’s waist into oblivion again. They must be working their way up to a PHD in photoshoppery. They’ve got a lot of meat to work with around Carey’s waist, despite the singer’s repetitive claims of “slimming down”.

Some of us foodies know how to put down a burger. Jelly Beans have little to no fat, so logic dicatates that I live on them and them alone. On occasion, when I feel indulgent, I may dip them in a lil’ Bacon Lube ™ or sprinkle them with Cheeto dust, but I do not play when it comes to getting a balanced diet.

Mariah Carey was this morning interviewed by her husband of one year, Nick Cannon, as he filled in for regular host, Ryan Seacrest.

Cannon interviewed his wife over the phone on American Top 40 and during that time Carey played 2-second snippets of songs from her new album, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel. Those who do not value their hearing should totally tune in. Short snippets or not, there are not enough opportunities in this world to have MooMoo ruin your hearing further. In lieu of any more high notes, I recommend turning this mother up and pressing your ear to the speaker, that should see you through until the entire record is leaked online.

Believe it or not, my current mania actually almost led me to write an entire annoyed sounding post about how Mariah Carey is incapable of finding/ buying sunglasses that fit her damn face. Well, I was going to write a post about it, cos her (nice but wrong on her face shape) shades annoy the crap out of me. I mean, just look at them, sitting essentially right by her forehead and making an utter mockery of me (gallery left).

I came to my senses and realised that writing an entire post about that would be just a load of nonsense.

So, instead, I have decided to share with you all how much it irks me when this woman rocks “12-year-old girl” chic. In this case the side ponytail (gallery centre).

There is nothing wrong with this hideous choice of hairdo when you are a tween whose momma don’t love them enough to do your hair properly. But ageing superstars should know better/ never rock anything, ANYTHING other than mermaid diva hair and really need to have their mess called out. 

MooMoo, my hearing has never been the same since the day that you came into my life. So please know that underneath all the layers of mocking and ill-thought out hyperbole lay a true and respectful fan. But please, please also know that your side-do is going to get cut off with my safety-scissors if I ever see you wearing it out in public again. Thanks. K. Bye.

Mariah Carey is a woman who is never happy… despite being given the honour of being asked to perform for the Obamas at the United States at the Neighborhood Ball, the star spent more time sulking than singing.

Carey was reportedly “furious” at not being seated so close to Obama that she was practically sitting on his lap. Homegirl thought she was more important than the other celebs in attendance and so she would be sat right next to Obama. Turns out she was wrong and she ended up slumming it with the other celebs in the VIP area.

According to the NY Post, “Mariah was in the VIP area, where every celebrity, like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, was seated. But somehow she thought she’d be up with the Obama family. When she realized she wasn’t, she bailed.”

Yes… you read right, MooMoo hated being sat next to mere A-Listers that she threw a diva fit and LEFT!

Though not famed for featuring on other people’s albums or on the albums of new artists, Mariah Carey is reportedly lending her vocals to the new album Reuben Cannon, the younger brother of Mr. Mariah, Nick Cannon.

Reuben Cannon was recently signed with Lavert Entertainment and is halfway through recording his album, which is slated for release in late 2009. 

According to E! News, Carey and Cannon Jr. are doing a duet together. “Reuben and Mariah are doing a duet together for Reuben’s first album. They are meeting at the end of the month with Mariah’s record label, Universal Music Group, to seal the deal, and Reuben is thrilled.”
