Stefani kind of looks the same on every cover she does, but I’m not mad at her for that. She is cute as a button in the above photo, wearing a pink sweater that I later stole off her.

Someone has gone to great lengths to make her look like Heidi Montag in the image above, and has ’shopped a good few extra inches onto her chin. Not sure why, as her face is perfection, even in extreme close up. Someone needs to give the face mangling a rest. Some horsey celebrities need a little help in the face. Stefani’s grill and her always present red lip does not want your assistance.

• On her man Gavin Rossdale’s daddy skills: “I always thought he’d be a good dad. And he has basically lived up to that and beyond, beyond. He’s very, very passionate, and he’s very intense. He’s made to be a dad. I’m very lucky.”
• On why she’s not in the tabloids much: “Maybe my crazy time is coming up. Let’s see what happens. Maybe I’m just a late bloomer. But I think it’s also just my nature.”
• On her parents being strict: “I was thinking today when I was driving, ‘How am I going to make sure that [my son] Kingston never does anything bad and doesn’t get arrested?’ I was thinking, ‘How did I stay out of trouble?’ And I know it’s just ’cause my parents are so strict. I mean, I’m still scared of them.”
• On always having blonde hair and rocking the red lipstick: “That’s my whole obsession with old Hollywood. I always loved watching all those old movies, and still do—if I had time.”
• On what surprises her about being a mom: “How hard it is…everything from getting up in the morning to trying to be consistent to trying to have the right feelings. But, of course, the rewards are so great.”

Gwen Stefani and her family spent some time visiting a Malibu, CA beach yesterday. Tell me this is not a gorgeous family. Gavin Rossdale has to be about 132-years-old, but with his shirt off, he doesn’t look a day over 43. Gwen looked great as she chilled on the beach and spent time cuddling baby Zuma and as always, three-year-old Kingston was a tiny little badass.

Oh, and before you ask, no I have no idea who the mystery blond kid with the tiny surf board is, but he’s pretty cute too.

You gotta love this foxy momma. If or when I become impregnated with the spawn of beelzebub and drop a little mutant, I wanna be one iota as fierce as this woman. In between her bouts screaming down the microphone on the No Doubt reunion and running out tubes of red lipstick in one use, this diva is a wife and the mother of Kingston, 3, and baby Zuma, 9 months.

On being a mom: “It’s one thing when you have an infant, but when you have this two-or three-year-old going, ‘Mommy, what’s the deal?’ it’s harder. Kingston’s whole thing is, ‘I need, I need.’ He is insane right now. We’re just hoping for the best and that he’s not going to turn out to be a freak, but we’ll see.”

On being a celebrity: “Obviously, I’m not anything more than I am. I’m just, like, totally normal. The fact that any of this has happened, that we’re sitting here at the Beverly Hills Hotel just gets me going, like, What?”

On leaving No Doubt: “Everybody’s making it like there’s all this new tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they’re jealous of me, and look, maybe there is a little bit of that.”

On her priorities changing from band to family: “I wasn’t even married. Now I’m a wife and a mother of two. It’s a really different role. I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage, because that’s what it’s like to be together for so long and go through what we’ve been through. I can’t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now. That’s a huge, huge thing.” (via Elle magazine)

This is a cute one and I am sharing it with you all, not because it is remotely newsorthy, but because it made me want to cuddle Larry King.

We all know that all the stick thin, over-bleached hags in the charts are all starting to look the same and blur into one less-interesting version of Lady GaGa. Seems that we are not the only ones who have noticed that bleached hair, red lips and 50’s style vamp looks are par for the course. The pop starlet uniform has led to the 75-year-old host of Larry King Live getting a little confused over two particular chart-toppers. 

Gwen had dropped by [Nate n’ Ali’s Deli in Los Angeles earlier this month] to pick up an order of four corned beef sandwiches to go when Larry — who released a new memoir last week– approached her, told her his son was a very big fan and asked for an autograph.

“Gwen happily signed her name on a napkin promising the TV talker she’d send his boy a photo in the mail,” according to the June 1 issue of The Globe. “But when she went to hand it over, Larry looked puzzled before finally admitting, ‘I thought you were Christina Aguilera.’” (via Pop Crunch)

No Doubt are making a comeback and got things going with a bang, on The Today Show. Check out these clips of the group, as fronted by Gwen Stefani, from their 1 May (5/1/09) performances.

My teeth are chattering right now, as I am so excited. I went through a brief pop/ rock phase in my early teens and used to eat, sleep and breath this band. In fact, ‘Tragic Kingdom’ by No Doubt was my first ever album I bought as a kid.

You will understand my surprise then checking out these clips, watching the Today Show videos of them performing ‘Don’t Speak’, ‘It’s My Life’ and ‘Spiderwebs’ over @ YouTube, when I suddenly felt a pang of déjà vu.

I love Stefani and if I were 171 sizes smaller I would conk her over the head and raid her closet in a hot minute. But, why on earth has Gwenny travelled back in time and pulled her 1995 hair and FUGly trousers out of the closet. This bish is fierce, but she could have stepped her fashion game up, rather than dressing like she did over a decade ago. She could also have sang with a bit more heart, but I got nothing but love and cannot be mad at her for being kinda lazy.

No Doubt are back and getting ready for their summer 2009 tour. To get people excited, they took the lazy, but well-trodden step of throwing together a synth-filled cover of a song by Adam and the Ants called Stand and Deliver (the original is here).

It sounds better with cotton wool in your ears. Or, when you turn it on and then leave the room. In fact, turning the volume right down, leaving the room and listening from several feet away makes the track sound absolutely FAB!

Clearly, one of the perks of being the spawn of a rock and roll couple is the power to levitate and look fierce at the same time. The cuteness is making my eyes hurt, so I think I’m gonna go and look at some pictures of Courtney Love or something, to bring some balance in the world. Enjoy

Must be because the school bullies are already lining up around the block to pick on bundle of cuteness Zuma, for having a goofy name. Could MILF and DILF Stefani not have just called their baby Pinchable Cheeks McGee and been done with it? What ever happened to giving your kid a name that fit them or that meant something to the family. That’s what my mum did between beers, when she gave birth to me… That’s how I ended up with my given name Amy ‘Pees When She Farts’ Grindhouse – sometimes shortened to just Amy.

Gwen Stefani has packed up her alphabetti spaghetti, her babies, her husband and the retired Harajuku Girls and crawled back to the safety of No Doubt [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

No Doubt has just released a new promotional pic of all of its bandmates (Gwen Stefani, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young). I point out that it is a new picture as it looks like a promo of them from about 15 years ago – fashion choices included. It looks like someone dusted off a picture of ND from their Tragic Kingdom days and photoshopped in a cardboard cutout of Gwen (just for shits and giggles).

According to their own ‘Live Chat’ on their site, the No Doubt gang are back for the ‘09 and are inspired to write and perform again. By this, one can only assume that there is a sense of the gravy train leaving the station, with or without the supporting members and Stefani is nice enough to let the boys come for the ride:

Gwen: “I think we should go out now, I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so spiriting to get out there and play all those songs again. I think that if we go on roue, it will inspire us to write. I need to see the fans out there.”

Tony: “I’m down to play. We need to play. It’s been too long… ND 2009… I’ll call management. It’s time to play.”
