More Photos From The Emmys 2011 Red Carpet

These are the rest of the arrival photos from the 2011 Emmys on Sunday night. Some people already got their own posts and my comments on their outfits are there: Christina Hendricks, Lea Michele, Katie Holmes, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sofia Vergara. Added to the gallery are other guest including, in order: Jennifer Carpenter, in one of the night’s many silver looks, showing clavicle and leg; Julianna Margulies… when asked on Facebook, what I thought of the Giorgio Armani Privé white gown, I said ‘it looked like a sock someone tried to bedazzle,’ I stand by that comment; Kelly Osbourne, meh; Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, and Rainn Wilson from The Office; Padma Lakshmi looking hungry; Elizabeth Moss looking pretty, but the same as everyone else; Hugh Laurie looking dapper; Jane Krakowski also in shiny white/ silver; Claire Danes… people picked from shiny white/ silver or navy, she chose navy; Julie Bowen’s clavicle; Olivia Munn in unflattering green; Paula Abdul in navy; Heidi Klum wearing balled up tissue with husband Seal; Kate Winslet… stunning; Evan Rachel Wood also stunning; Anna Faris in silver, me like; and Glee’s Heather Morris, Jane Lynch, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Kevin McHale and Dianna Agron. 35 photos.

Katie Holmes’ Calvin Klein Dress At Emmys 2011

I thought Katie Holmes looked lost at the MTV VMAs last month. It was like she typed the wrong address into Google Maps and she ended up on the MTV black carpet rather than some other event. I get the same feeling looking at her photos from the 2011 Emmys. She looks good though, right? This is another of my favourites (I found myself biased towards the simpler looks). Holmes wore one of the night’s many, many blue dresses. It’s a Calvin Klein Collection by Francisco Costa with an… interesting neckline. It’s pretty flattering. And she’s one of the only people who tried on their outfit before leaving the house. 10 photos below.

Sofia Vergara In Vera Wang At The 2011 Emmys

Sofia Vergara wrapped her goodies in salmon/ coral Vera Wang. This is one of the night’s best looks, IMO. She just didn’t have to try as hard as some of the other women at Sunday night’s Emmys. I’m not sure about the hair and make-up: the hair looking greasy and the make-up being too dark. But it’s not a bad look when all pulled together. The dress is very flattering; it skims, rather than clings, and it’s slimming. I don’t know about the excess lace underneath, it’s a bit distracting when everything else feels so simple. You like? Eight photos below.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Hideous Emmy Awards Dress

Gwyneth Paltrow wore this lace dress with piping to the 2011 Emmys. This is one of the night’s fussiest and ugliest looks, IMO. There’s just so much going on; the embroidery, the beading, the lace, the stomach area. I think it’s supposed to be simple, but it’s not. I guess I’m so distracted by the cut-out stomach part of this black Pucci dress that I can’t fairly critique the rest of the look. Her hair looks good, I guess. And her make-up. But the ‘dress’ looks more like a half-shirt and a skirt with a too-high waist made as a middle schooler’s craft project. And her boobs looks a mess. It’s the 2002 Oscars all over again, right? Five photos below.

Christina Hendricks Boobs & Legs At The Emmys

Christina Hendricks took her dirty comforter for a walk down the red carpet of Sunday night’s Emmy Awards 2011. I’m pretty sure you’re only supposed to show either legs OR cleavage. Isn’t showing both considered tacky? Well, she still looked better than 90% of the red carpet at tonight’s ceremony (there were a lot of sequinned/ bedazzled missteps). 8 photos of the gold Johanna Johnson gown.

Lea Michele Red Marchesa Dress At The Emmys

Lea Michele of Glee was one of the fashion stand-outs at Sunday night’s 2011 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. She wore a red, backless, Marchesa gown that looked like something of an ill-fit. It’s too loose around the bust, right? It’s in need of more chest to fill it out. But Michele was still one of the night’s best-dressed. Mainly because she made no major fashion mistakes and she kept it pretty simple. There were a lot of fussy, samey looks tonight. But Michele did pretty well, wearing one of the night’s only red dresses (a bunch of women wore navy and others wore shades of white/ silver or salmon/ pink). 12 photos below.
