Earlier this week, sources who are clearly not friends on Twitter debated whether Liam Hemsworth ever wanted to get married. Some sources claimed the wedding had been postponed because of relationship troubles, while other sources specified that those ‘troubles’ were Hemsworth banging Fat Betty on the side. But today, People.com is basically calling it and saying the relationship will be taken off life support if they can’t work things out. ‘Miley and Liam had another argument before the weekend and the engagement ring is off again,’ a source tells the magazine. ‘They don’t want to get married until they figure out their problems. But Miley is very worried about losing Liam. She is crazy about him.’

Miley Cyrus settled for Fat Betty’s Sloppy Seconds around the same time some poor cab driver hosed the sex stink out of his backseat but it’s still brand new information to the singer that her relationship’s been on life support ever since.

The former child star and her actor fiance became engaged back in June 2012 and by all accounts the couple never even set a wedding date. For example, asked recently, her own father admitted he didn’t know whether they would get married at all. And now it must be bad because the fanciest kind of sources who go through the fanciest kind of trash tell People.com the relationship is being read its last rites. ‘They want to figure out their life together before they get married,’ says a source, who admits the couple originally wanted to tie the knot this summer. ‘They’re still engaged and living together… They just realized that there is no rush with the wedding and that it’s better that they wait a bit.’ Adds a second source, ‘They were never in a rush to get married.’

More pessimistic sources tell RadarOnline.com Hemsworth thought you were supposed to be cheating during your engagement… getting it out of your system before you get married. That’s how I’m choosing to interpret this: ‘For the moment, the wedding has been postponed,’ says a ROL source. ‘When Miley and Liam got engaged, he thought it was going to be a longer engagement and that he would still be able to have a bit of freedom with his life. But Miley has been very insistent that they get hitched as soon as possible. She’s been chewing Liam’s ear off about it. He just snapped and said that he wasn’t ready, which upset Miley because she was always so insistent they’d marry within a year. [Liam felt] a little trapped, [telling her] enough was enough. She was devastated, but Miley understands she may have been pushing him too much. Miley doesn’t want to lose Liam, so she’s accepted that she is going to have to wait.’

Despite tripping and falling into the bottomless pit that is January Jones’ vagina, Liam Hemsworth is somehow leaking information about his relationship that I assume is being decoded from smoke signals seen 100 miles away. A ‘source’ who knows that white smoke=good, black smoke=bad translated this whole thing… or Siri knows smoke signals and I’m giving a real person too much credit.

‘They’ll probably end up together, but Miley is just giving him hell right now and trying to publicly humiliate him,’ says the source. ‘They were always arguing about the company she kept and her actions with alcohol and stuff, and it made him especially uncomfortable when he was not home to supervise. Plus, Miley isn’t looking so fierce these days and Liam hasn’t really been feeling her look.’

‘The second Miley caught wind of Liam being unfaithful she took that as an opportunity to rip into him because he made her feel guilty all the time about her behavior. But she never cheated on him,’ the source continues. ‘Liam’s PR firm has been trying to break them up for years. They think she is bad news for his image. He could be such a bigger star if he weren’t tied down to her. He’s getting a lot of work but all the outlets ever want to talk about is Miley and it’s really frustrating for him. If Miley has her way, the breakup won’t last because she’s head over heels for Liam and ultimately doesn’t want to lose him. But now that Liam is taking some time away from her, he might come to the realization that she’s not the best fit for him. And that terrifies Miley.’
