Twitter Down Following DDoS Attack

Twitter was down and not working following a DDoS attack. Twitter suffered a few hours of down time and is still down now for some, following a malicious attack that left users unable to even load the site at all. As a backup of course, many people tried to log into Facebook, only to find it sluggish and struggling to cope with all the people attempting some form of backup access to their social networks. Twitter used their status blog to placate their apoplexy-ridden users.

“Denial of Service Attack On this otherwise happy Thursday morning, Twitter is the target of a denial of service attack. Attacks such as this are malicious efforts orchestrated to disrupt and make unavailable services such as online banks, credit card payment gateways, and in this case, Twitter for intended customers or users. We are defending against this attack now and will continue to update our status blog as we continue to defend and later investigate.” (via Twitter Blog)

While this isn’t entertainment news, it is the reason I turned to drink in lieu of chasing actual human company, this afternoon. Twitter is back for some and should recover fully soon. You can follow me once access is restored and see what crack addicted tweets you have totally been missing out on.

Paula Abdul Twitters Leaving American Idol

Paula Abdul used her official Twitter to tell her fans she’s leaving American Idol.

Abdul announced that she’s decided to leave the show. She tweeted (with added punctuation): With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to [American Idol]. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all…I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon. This news is no surprise to people who have been following reports of her replacement by Jennifer Lopez to Cheryl Cole and everyone in between. Also, Abdul’s own rep had been nom nom noming at the bit over the fact the star had not received a proposal for a new contract even though auditions are scheduled to begin August 6.

It’s so sad that we are going to have to go through the next season of American Idol sans Abdul’s tears and questionable swaying back an forth. I has a sads.

Ciara Twitters New Short Cropped Hair Pictures

Ciara has taken to her official Twitter to showcase her new short hairstyle.

The fussing about this chick’s hair started yesterday, when she published pictures of herself getting her weave did. The new look was put together by hairstylist, Kiyah Wright.

The urban community are calling out C-Error for her lapse in judgement. The weave she’s been rocking for the last decade was fine. No sensible reason has been given for lopping the locks off and making herself age another ten years. Unless Error has five kids we don’t know about, not sure what the “Soccer Mom” look is supposed to achieve. R&B divas are supposed to be perpetually bang-able and pretty sure looking like Lil Mama after having lost a battle with a pair of shears does not suffice.

Aubrey O’Day used her official Twitter and TwitPic to show off pictures of her new finger tattoo.

This makes a change from the slutty hottie tweeting semi-nude pictures of herself. This time we are treated to low-res. pictures of some chica with tattoos on her bubies (in a rather dingy studio) giving O’Day’s d*ck hand some new ink.

The tattoo looks like it says ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’, on her middle finger.

Mariah Video Premiere on America’s Got Talent

Mariah Carey took to her official Twitter to let her fans know that she is to premiere her new music video for Obsessed on TV show, America’s Got Talent.

I was too busy shaking off the cracky-jitters to watch the British version of this show. Pretty sure they never had anyone as fierce as our beloved MooMoo, so I doubt I missed much. From what I heard, some fierce cat lady with award-winning eyebrows was the only thing worth writing home about. It utterly lacked the class to be worthy of Moo’s glass shattering chichis.

On her Twitter, the singer wrote, “Just wanna let you know that the world premiere of the ‘Obsessed’ video is on ‘America’s Got Talent’ (hosted by NCx0x) Wed.night..July 15th!”

Mariah Carey has taken to her official Twitter to talk about how she was too overcome with emotion to sing at MJ’s memorial ceremony. The singer, who was seen to be very emotional and struggled to get notes out without her voice cracking up, says that looking back she wishes she’d done a better job.

She is totally being too hard on herself. The performance was not that bad and from the sounds of it, she didn’t know the coffin was going to be right in front of her during the performance. Anyone would crack up.
