LeAnn Rimes was telling the truth when she asserted in multiple statements that there was no sex tape. With stills being released and heavy coverage that still largely refers to this as a ‘sex tape,’ Rimes has spoken out hoping to quite reports. Oh, and she did so on Twitter even though she appears to have a new blog started on her website this month. Responding to messages from followers, who I guess inquired about the tape, Rimes went on something of a rant to defend herself. As she’s entitled. And, given some of the more excitable coverage of this tape, I don’t blame her. ‘Since when is changing in front of a mirror in a thong a ‘sex tape?’ the fact that someone has STOLEN a tape of private moments of when I was 18 and is trying to profit off of it is sick and the fact that the media is trying to make more of it than it is, a few private moments of me changing and joking around is misleading and wrong,’ she wrote. ‘Once again, I have never filmed myself having sex period. All I know is you see more of me on a beach in a bikini. Moving on, so should everyone else!’ So, that’s Rimes’ Twitter Fap ™ about never having fapped or done anything else naked on tape.

First, thanks to the reader who sent this. The sentiment of these tweets is fine, to be clear. And, narcissist or no, it’s nice that LeAnn Rimes typod a message of support to singer Joss Stone after the British star was the subject of an alleged kidnap/ murder plot. However, it takes a pretty spectacular kind of person to make reports this horrific about them. And, because it’s what she would want, let’s do just that. It had been reported that sheltered country folk alerted the popo after noticing, ‘two black men acting suspiciously in a red Fiat Punto.’ I know, I know. Because stereotypes are fun, turns out those suspicious folk were wannabe murderers in all likelihood. And the two men, 30 and 33-years-old, had ‘detailed maps and aerial photos of her rural property in east Devon… [after they] travelled from the Manchester area 200 miles away,’ with ‘swords, rope, a body bag and forensic-style overalls.’ Swords, plural. And a kit to take forensic countermeasures like they were committing the murder on CSI. I can’t. Well, did you know, Rimes had something similar happen to her, twice? No, me neither. ‘I have experience this first hand, twice when I was younger,’ Rimes wrote in reply to a follower. ‘The ‘plotting’ issue Joss Stone is going through. It’s scary.’
