After months of what appears to have been pretty accurate information leaking, Britney Spears finally signed her X Factor contract in crayon. She’s officially signed-up to be paid $15 million-per-season to remain seated while whispering scripted platitudes about the singers’ outfits (think Victoria Beckham guest judging American Idol). A source tells E! Online: ‘She’s ready for this. She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got. There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all complete. Britney is excited.’

Britney Spears Hard Rock Resident Headliner?
There were rumours about this even before the singer started X Factor negotiations with Simon Cowell, cited as the reason she wanted a get-out clause after one season. Britney Spears will probably become resident headliner at 4,000 seater The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. It’ll be a multi-week deal, about which her minders are in talks. A source says of the potential deal: ‘The queen of pop will be the queen of the Hard Rock if all goes according to plan.’
Britney Spears X Factor Deal May Fall Through
Britney Spears could still be replaced as a potential X Factor judge. A source tells X17Online.com: ‘Things may not be as advanced as everyone is assuming. These things take along time. Anything can happen.’ About which I’m only reporting because it jives with the claims of sources for RadarOnline.com. Apparently, it was Cowell’s idea for Jason Trawick to become the singer’s co-conservator, because assurances were needed that she would complete the job (moreover, it’s reported Spears asked that Trawick accompany her on set every day). The source claims: ‘Simon is very excited about Britney joining the show. However, it’s important to remember that she is still under a conservatorship and the last thing her father wants to do is be on the set for hours at a time. Jamie has conservatorship of Britney’s finances and personal life. Jamie just isn’t comfortable in that world but her fiancé, Jason Trawick is, because he is a respected Hollywood agent. Simon and Britney’s camp agreed it would be a good idea to have Jason petition the court to become a co-conservator of Britney’s personal life but he isn’t seeking to get involved in her finances. Jason is also very excited for Britney to join the show. There were also insurance complications because Britney is under a conservatorship, but those issues have been worked out because it’s expected that the judge will grant the petition.’

Reports Conflict About Britney On The X Factor
I read a few days ago about Britney Spears meeting a conservatorship judge, so he could check that she was willing and able to perform judging duties on the X Factor following reports of an offer from Simon Cowell. I wrote and trashed a story, because I couldn’t be bothered to address the offer of $15 million; a mid-point between the initial $10 million and her desired $20 million. But now there are conflicting reports that Cowell wants out because he’s concerned whether Spears has the wherewithal to do anything but offer banal platitudes for a week before mentally checking out. RadarOnline.com reports that: ‘Under terms of the contract, Britney will be paid around $15 million a year. She will travel out of state for auditions, as long as it doesn’t interfere with her custodial time with her sons.’ However, Us Weekly is suggesting that nothing’s gone past informal negotiations and Cowell wants out: ‘Simon’s worried she won’t be able to deliver good advice, and he’s afraid contestants won’t take her seriously. He’ll probably go more in the direction of Mariah Carey or Janet Jackson.’ Should Spears judge?
Britney Spears Really Needs A Get-Out Clause
Following reports that Britney Spears rejected an offer of $10 million to judge X Factor only to ask for $20 million instead, it’s claimed the singer is close to landing a deal after she and Fox met in the middle with their negotiations.
According to new reports: ‘Money is not an issue for the show. As of now, they are looking to pay her $12-15 million for the first season, with a drastic price hike for a second year based on ratings performance.’ However, the singer needs a get-out clause in case this goes horribly wrong/ she has a go-go juice crash. ’Simon Cowell wants at least a two-year commitment and Britney wants an out clause if she doesn’t want to continue after one year of service,’ a source tells HollywoodLife.com adding that Simon Cowell also wants Adele (not LeAnn Rimes). ‘Simon is always looking for new directions and ideas. He thinks Adele’s success and achievements are incredible. True musicianship and a serious approach can bring a lot of credibility and an extra dimension to his show.’
Britney Spears Wants $20 Million For X Factor
In a report that requires the suspension of disbelief that Britney Spears has the wherewithal to perform the task, the singer has asked for double-pay to appear as an X Factor judge. It was reported last week that Spears wanted $10 million to appears as a judge on the show (you guys were right: low-rent LeAnn Rimes leaked her own story because there’s no way Rimes would be worth a fraction of that). TheWrap.com claims the $10 million Spears offer was rejected three-weeks ago. On pain of turning it down to become a resident performer in Las Vegas, the singer’s people came back asking for $20 million. IMO, it would be worth it to see Spears clap, cross-eyed, through whispered superlatives aimed at her own reflection in her sippy cup. It appears unlikely Fox will pay that much.
