Jolie has, since the premiere, finished draining the glorious Technicolor out of Pitt and has transformed from ‘That’ll do’ black-on-black to white-on-nude.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt attended the New York City premiere of In The Land Of Blood And Honey together. Which means little, except they’re in matching ‘That’ll do’ black-on-black and they found a sitter. Jolie’s wearing her usual; something dark and tailored. Just before his succubus partner inhaled the last of his soul, Brad Pitt let the world know he’s only intermittently happy. As in, sometimes he’s happy, sometimes Angelina Jolie inhales entirely too much soul, not leaving him enough to get through the day. Pitt spoke with Australia’s 60 Minutes where he launched what most people are reading as a thinly-veiled Oscar campaign. ‘I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together… getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher times otherwise,’ said the actor who’s quitting acting in three years. ‘I think happiness is overrated, truthfully. I do. I think sometimes you’re happy, sometimes you’re not. There’s too much pressure to be happy. I don’t know. I don’t really give a s**t. I know I will be at times and I know I won’t be at times. Brad Pitt has explained why he and partner Angelina Jolie sold pictures of their then-newborn twins to People Magazine for $14 million, which they put into their charitable foundation: ‘I know some of these guys who are in that ‘stalkerazzi’ world, and you really have to separate them from the paparazzi in our industry. That’s another breed. They have their heroes who got the big, scandalous shot, which just promotes more of that, It’s a very strange thing to be selling photos of something that’s very intimate and personal. And those of which you want to protect. We have to plan an escape every day just to get out of the house; kind of a Mission Impossible with decoys, and that’s the life we live in, and that’s the one we asked for. But we knew there was a bounty on our head … and we know the lengths they go to to get that shot. So we figured, ‘Let’s cut it off in the beginning,’ and instead of that money going to people I do not respect, we would make some good out of it.’ They need a set of decoys and red herring/ circuitous travel plans in order to leave their house every day? Yeah, sounds about right. Johnny Depp spoke about how Pitt and Jolie were followed in his Vanity Fair January 2011 interview, promoting The Tourist, ‘Poor [Angelina], dogged by paparazzi; her and Brad…all their kids. There are times when you see how ridiculous is this life, how ludicrous it is, you know, leaving your house every morning and being followed by paparazzi… [She and I had] to hide, sometimes not even being able to talk to each other in public because someone will take a photograph and it will be misconstrued and turned into some other s**t.’

Jennifer Aniston just can’t catch a break after six years of throwing Brad Pitt under the bus to shill her fail-comedies. These latest remarks come from the pages of Vanity Fair, with whom Angelina Jolie just did a cover interview. Favouring their subject, and taking sides, the editor makes the following comment in the print edition of the magazine: ‘You can’t go 15 minutes in Angie World without a hint of Aniston, who lingers like a sad spook, the girl bested and left behind.’ I actually agree. And Aniston did this to herself, name-dropping Pitt too many times to mention whenever she felt it would benefit her box office. But is it out of line for Vanity Fair to editorialize in this way? Is Aniston just a leech?
I posted Brad Pitt’s Parade Magazine interview and the unanimous reaction from you guys was that Pitt should stick to his inside voice when it comes to Jennifer Aniston. Pitt described his marriage to Aniston using a series of clumsy words like ‘pathetic,’ not interesting,’ and ‘pretend.’ He pretty much threw her and their whole half-decade marriage under the bus. Aniston has done the same to him, over and over, basically mocking him and/ or shilling their marriage that ended six years ago. The first notable time Pitt does the same he’s backed into a corner and we get some kind of retraction. I’m reading this as a retraction anyway. He told Parade, ‘I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.’ Today, he issued a statement, ‘It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself and that, I am responsible for.’
